Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

Agreed.

Colby went from having seven shots halfway through the first to having 10 at the end of the second period.

I was very impressed with how they turned it on. Although the fourth line (energy line) of Mulvey/Allan/Gorman didn't score. I was very impressed with their play tonight.

Houston nets two goals as does Thomas. Parker Carroll looks solid again between the pipes.

I think coach may have found something with these line combos.

McShane said as much in the pre game interview with George Commo, and I think the defense is playing better too. Glad we picked up Parker Carroll because he looks a little less shakey than Dubois, especially when there is a scrum in the crease.

I have to say, one of my favorite players is Mulvey, he's fast, a great forchecker and works the corners effectively. He keeps the puck in play in the most amazing ways. Wish his line was scoring more. They hustle for it every shift they get.

Nice wins this weekend, sigh... won't be back to Kreitsburh till the 28th. Great job Cadets.

Give it time. Mulvey and Allan both have scoring prowess but their role right now doesn't involve HAVING to put pucks in the net. I like the role they are playing right now and if the goals come, they come. They do a great job controlling the puck while they are out there and wearing down the opposing team's players with their speed.

Prez, I agree with you that they wear down the opposition, just watching them makes me tired! I also wanted to mention Greg Eskedjian's nice move to the goal in the 2nd period. I think he knew that Colby was kind of playing man to man against our forwards and didn't pay any attention to him. Big Mistake! I think he had a similar opportunity during the first period, slid right into the crease from the goalie's left side but McKinney stopped it. Greg was 1 goal and 2 assists for the night and played excellent defense.

My interest level is way down for Vermont hockey because of the losing streek. The PJ women were Norwich Women's hockey players there to support the mens team-that's all.

The three stars of the game is a great addition to the Norwich game press release. Just wondering in the info was going to be released for the radio broadcast and the players introduced for the fans? Also is the three stars for Norwich players only?

NEC and St. A's won both games against UNE and Southern Maine this last weekend so the compeition doesn't get any easier for the Cadets.

I pick them and you can find them on every home collegehockeystats box score I submit. I've approached a few people about trying to make it into the same production as Plattsburgh does. Maybe we'll try it here at the end of the month. It's all about having enough people and coordinating it with Dex and a runner from the SID to get the players.

The three stars are not for Norwich players only. Usually I try and get one from the opponent in if there is merit for it and if they win they usually get two or even all three sometimes.

I was thinking of the Plattsburgh three star system where I believe the players are introduced after the game. After a hard fought game like Norwich/Bowdoin the stars introduction could keep fans around a little longer. I am not how the players look at the three star picks?

That's what I just said.

I told you this already as well.

Did you get their autographs though? or did they have you sign their jammies for being "The Hawk!" :D

For everyone that wasn't at Kreitzberg this weekend, is this perhaps the reason for Norwich breaking out of its recent skid?

(This picture was taken with a camera phone...sorry for the low quality.)

This one might be better.

You can only wonder what the Bowdoin Mens team was thinking when they saw these 5 Pajama girls right on the other side of the glass behind their bench Friday night 3rd period.Looking forward to making the trip over to Plattsburg to see them play Wednesday night Go Cadets:)

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

It should be a good weekend for the Cadets. Tonight NEC is 3-4 and 5-5-1 overall and Sat afternoon St Anselm is 6-3 and 6-3. Lets go Cadets get 4 points this weekend and stay top of the ECAC East.

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

Nice article on Ex player Phil Sbrocchi on the Norwich Athletics website but Charlie lets actually get a picture of Phil on there and not Johnathan LaChance.......I did not know Phil was still playing. He is still scrappy by the sounds and a pain in the side for others to play against still :)

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

Don't put them in the win column yet...that's how teams get beat, looking past a supposedly weak opponent.

I aggree. But the comment was witht the assumption that 1) the boys will work as hard as they did last weekend, and 2) they do not want to start the second semester next week with a loss this weekend.

Photo was incorrectly labeled sbrocchi. Apologies.

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

Some great plays and nice wins this weekend for the Cadets. I can't help but have concern on their defensive lapses that occurred in both games, particularly against ST. A's. Carroll got caught napping on the last two goals, and where was the defense? I can imagine it is hard to stay on top of your game when all the action is going on in the other end of the rink. However, we can't afford any lapses if we are looking to play in the post season. I believe that is what Castleton capitalized on in their 3-2 win not long ago. Anybody else who saw the games this weekend have some thoughts on how the team did? Cadets, you are doing well, keep up the focus and intensity. Thanks for the entertainment.
