Looking at the Norwich schedule this year I noticed the first game was on Friday, November 19 nearly a month after some other d3 programs have played games. In the past Norwich has scheduled a tune up game early but this year I believe the extra game against Castleton is in December. Can not wait for next year to get the season started early. Have to wonder if the lack of games early will have an effect on the Primelink where Plattsburgh and the Western Team wil already of played many games. Haven't heard of any inter squad game yet but it would be great to be able to attend the Norwich/Castleton football game and the practice game both on Saturday, November 6. After looking at the roster it looks like Norwich is rearly loaded at forward this year.

Never been a problem in the past with the Primelink. Some years there has been an exhibition game early, but not always. I'm not looking forward to an early start - it just means there will be "dark" weekends during prime hockey season. When you spread the same number of games out over a season that is a month longer, it means that you have to build off weeks (which are inaccurately called bye weeks) into the schedule. A bye is actually a situation in which a team has no game to play due to an odd number of teams in the league or a number of entrants in a tournament that is not a power of two. The NFL's so called bye weeks aren't bye weeks because the NFL has an even number of teams.

As I was looking at last year's POTW threads, and I stumbled across this little bit of foreshadowing:

[Oswego] Always have and always will be my second team. I loved going to Oswego and the players on the team when i got to know them but Elmira is always going to be home. I've been going to their games since I was 5. Not going to just jump ship to my alma mater because they are #1 and have won a NC.

By the time I'm all said and done I might even end up in the CCCP region someday :cool:

Does anyone know if Norwich is going to have there inter-squad game this Saturday? In the past they have offered free food for fan appreciation; what is the deal this year?

Yes, Saturday is the Maroon and Gold "game" at 7 p.m.

There will be free popcorn offered and Skate With the Cadets will take place after.

Is that any way to treat a season ticket holder and Blue Line Club member?

I was looking forward to the free hot dogs again this year? No one is talking about hockey but there are a couple of positions I am sort of interested in watching to see how they are developing. Only 2 games this year to get ready for the Primelink.

Better collect early on the bet if possible, his mind is fried.

If i look back a little bit in Primelink history, it kinda looks like Norwich has won 3 of the last 6 or so. I don;t think the number of games they have played prior to the PrimeLink has much effect on them.

On the other hand, typical hawk post without getting any research done.

we have a long list of people waiting to buy season tickets, soooooooooo pay up the bet. You forgot one thing, you are a season ticket holder, a blue line club member and a welcher.:D:D:D:D

Hawk,Norwich only plays 2 games before the Primelink every year until next season.

why would someone make a bet ,loose the bet,never pay off the bet and still have no quarms about showing their face at the rink.it's gotta make you wonder

Well since tomorrow is Veterans' Day -- thank you to all the Norwich grads and all our veterans who have served the US and have kept us free. If you're currently in harm's way, my prayers are with you for your safe return.

And if you're a Marine - Happy Anniversary!!!
