The regional location having an effect on who wins the championship is vastly overblown, I think. Once you get where ever it is, it's just another weekend of hockey. At the d3 level, almost everybody (except Utica) has experienced long road trips, so I'm not a big fan of putting a lot of weight into that.
Likewise, it's almost guaranteed Adrian will be the lowest seed in the west and have a tough path to the Final Four. Also, there is almost no way they come out in the top five of the preseason poll this year. I think Adrian's previous pre-season rankings have been influenced a bit by my having them very high. The "traditional" voters (looking mostly at coaches) will not be willing to rank Adrian highly.
On topic: I do agree Norwich should be at the top of the list (despite my hatred of them...) even though I'm not of the mind "the champ deserves to stay the champ." I think they're in a pretty solid position to make another run.
(Still amused I had to spend half a season explaining that I don't actually hate NU...)
