Why not just pay Crosby the debt you already owe him....:D BTW,Charlie, I'll take you up on the tour of the facility next month when I'm up, I'll treat for lunch.:D

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

Great points.

I thought Adrian could have been there this past year. With the FF being in the west.......

The regional location having an effect on who wins the championship is vastly overblown, I think. Once you get where ever it is, it's just another weekend of hockey. At the d3 level, almost everybody (except Utica) has experienced long road trips, so I'm not a big fan of putting a lot of weight into that.

Likewise, it's almost guaranteed Adrian will be the lowest seed in the west and have a tough path to the Final Four. Also, there is almost no way they come out in the top five of the preseason poll this year. I think Adrian's previous pre-season rankings have been influenced a bit by my having them very high. The "traditional" voters (looking mostly at coaches) will not be willing to rank Adrian highly.

On topic: I do agree Norwich should be at the top of the list (despite my hatred of them...) even though I'm not of the mind "the champ deserves to stay the champ." I think they're in a pretty solid position to make another run.

(Still amused I had to spend half a season explaining that I don't actually hate NU...)

I haven't seen the schedule but doesn't Adrien play in the Times Tournament at Norwich this year. If they are successful in that tournament it could bump them up in the polls. It is off topic but what is wrong with Superior. A few years ago they were always super competitive like St. Norbert and now they are in the middle of the NCHA.

Man, after years of teaching I should have learned that there are young uns that just take teasing way too seriously. I know you calls um as you sees um, unlike those of us who see through maroon and gold colored glasses. That fact was than in the year you dumped on NU, they deserved it.

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

A question I have had for a couple of weeks is why hasn't the NESCAC made a public announcement out of respect for the ECAC East partners and potential recruits. I assume that all recruits want to know the league they will be playing in a couple of years. I will have to ask the question at NESCAC games next year, but I assume some NESCAC recruits and players will not look favorable at the new league structure. You got to give a lot of credit to the ECAC East schools to take a pro-active position to keep the league very strong. Have to wonder how much time the NESCAC has to make a formal announcement.

Superior was down last season, but as recently as 2009 they were at the top of the NCHA and were the west's #1 seed in the NCAA's.

As for Adrian, yeah, I don't see any reason they wouldn't be ranked in the top 5 to start the season. Lots and lots coming back there.

Not sure of exact date, but do not believe it will be called the TA anymore.

In addition to shrinking their paper, charging more than the BFP, and planning to start charging to access their online content, they are going to stop sponsoring the NU Holiday tournament?

True, true, true, not sure it is their idea..........

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

My understanding the tournament TBN (To Be Named) ... will go on New Years Eve afternoon (Yes Friday afternoon) at 1 and 4 and New Years Day (Saturday) at 4 and 7.

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

Are they looking for a new sponsor for the T/A? and...isn't the T/A committed to it for this coming year anyway?
