Norwich 2018-19 Season Thread: The Ellsworth Era begins

Another NEHC finals match up at Kreitzberg between the Statesmen and the Cadets. What a great facility and great matchup .....I think the Statesman are looking forward to the revenge crowd noise giving them the energy required for an all out 60 minute effort. It should be a great game . Good luck to both teams and to the NEHC bringing back an NCAA title!

Should be a good one. Once again Hobart is peaking at the right time. The two teams won’t have played each other in almost 2 months by next Saturday.

Hobart beating NEC 4-1 and UMass Boston 4-0 in their barn is no slouch

Liam Lascelle has taken the reins of the top goalie spot, yes that’s the brother of the former NU defenseman Kayla Lascelle.

Norwich has been a tear for 2 months with 16 straight unbeaten. The good news for NU fans, id day Norwich is 98 percent in the field no matter what for the NCAA.

All-in-all, I failed miserably with this game. I missed the first period and then my internet connection went to crap in the second and I gave up on it. But, proud to see the boys pull off the win. Given what happened last year, it would be extra sweet to win the title over Hobart in Kreitzberg.

Edit: Being that I missed this game, I especially look forward to the videos that the hockey social media accounts have been putting out after each game. I'm not sure who's responsible for them, but they're awesome.

Ronny Dimasi is responsible for the videos, if we’re talking about the same videos

Feed keeps going out on the ROKU app. Same thing happened several times last night on the basketball games from Williams.

I didn't know Ouderkirk was an Ellsworth recruit. If that's the standard of recruit that we can expect under Coach Ellsworth then the future is mighty bright.

“I don’t care if we’re the best team in December...I want to be playing the best hockey we can in March” - Coach Cam Ellsworth

Also, with Prez as my witness, earlier this week I predicted Hobart scores first, and Hall ties it*

*I also went on to predict a 4-2 final with an ENG to seal it, but that won’t be mentioned since I was wrong :)

Guy standing next to me said ‘Hall will have something to say about this before the nights over’ probably 5 mins before he took the team on his back and scored that one. Nice to have someone with that clutch scoring.

Great game against a great opponent, honestly Norwich looked toasted in the 2nd til Halls goal. Well played 3rd and liked the way we played with the lead.

Intense game. Great outcome. It did turn out to be the low scoring game we expected from the #8 & #9 DIII goalies in the country.
I thought that some of our passing tonight was reminiscent of the early part of our season.
Sure to keep the #3 seed on Monday. Hoping for a bye, and a home game in 2 weeks.

You lucked out. Guy standing behind me was a Hobart fan and kept touching me. At one point, I was convinced he was trying to take my wallet. Dead serious.
