Norwich 14-15

Re: Norwich 14-15

Any word on the condition of Flaherty? He was in obvious pain (shoulder/collarbone) late in the Babson game, stayed on the bench, but I'm not sure he went back on the ice.

Prez

I know you have to tow the company line and every opponent is the next Montreal Canadiens, but this should be a comfortable win.

I just don't get it ... 2-2 vs Babson ... 4-5 vs Trinity obviously doesn't carry any weight with some of you people.

Those games happened...so did 9-1 Cadets. While it was October, it sticks in the memory bank a bit more.

I do NOT think the boys will take Plymouth lightly, and do NOT think this will be a close game either

Will Plymouth offer any more resistance than did Salem a year ago?

I'm glad the players and coaching staff are taking this game way more seriously than the uscho posters are. It's the NCAA Tournament. Every team is a good team and Plymouth State is one of the hottest teams in the country right now.

Sarig is a bonafide All-American candidate on defense with an absolute cannon for a shot. Wigg could be on the top line for almost any team in D3. Caesar a Utica transfer mind you has been the steadying force between the pipes for Plymouth ever since he came to the team at the break last season.

Norwich winning two games against this team by a score of 19-5 when both games came in the season openers the last two seasons means nothing.

If the Plymouth that tied Babson and lost to Trinity by a goal shows up, NU will be in for a competitive game.

The first period or so may be "Competitive" but after that???The Cadets will NOT be taking them lightly I am sure of that,to well coached for that to happen.

Re: Norwich 14-15

I stand by my original statement. NU will NOT take the Panthers lightly, and this will NOT be a close game. My pick is 1-1 after 1 period, 5-1 or 6-1 final. I think an even 1st leads to the Cadets FLYING to open the 2nd. I think this leads to things snowballing on Plymouth.

Indeed it is the NCAA tournament...it's the NCAA tournament for the Cadets too. This group has shown some resolve and I think they've got a bit more desire to accomplish some things than we've seen the last couple of years. I'm not trying to knock those teams, but I just sense a little bit more "fire" from this group.

Listen, I'm not trying to disrespect the Panthers, their coach, or their program. They've definitely made some significant strides, and have EARNED the right to be in this tournament. Are they an elite program? Nope. Is Norwich? I think we all believe so. If that is indeed the case, they boys will put the Panthers firmly away.

Can't wait until Saturday night!

Puck Voice, we just have to allow for short term memory loss.

Meanwhile, some of us older folks easily recall the 2008-09 season when the recently crowed Regular Season '08-09 Champ of the ECAC-E ("that be NU") was visited the lowest seeded ECAC-E Team (UMass Boston) in the first round of the ECAC-E Tournament. Back then the Beacons were the doormat of the the ECAC-E and arrived at the "The Berg" with a stellar recored (that was finally recorded at 10-16-3 record with a .393 winning percentage). But somehow and despite 39 Cadet SOG in that game.....they took NU to OT and beat us.

Clearly the Beacons had not been told they did not deserve to be there because they won their next game and went so far as to end their season in the ECAC-E Tournament Title Game in another OT which they lost to Babson. Meanwhile Babson, the ECAC-E Tournament Champs--(ended that season with 13 W and 14 L)--but was the ECAC E conference representative to the 2008-09 NCAA dance. My point?

Now it is all single elimination--every opponent is as mean and dangerous as a snake.... and to think other wise courts disaster. And anyone who thinks otherwise may vey well spend the rest of March looking at snow melt. Go Cadets.
