Alabama-Huntsville 4 NMU 1 (Final) tonite from Marquette.... NMU is now (4-13-2) on the season.... 1260 announced attendance at The Berry....

from what I saw on video, they were lucky to have 500 people there.

NMU is now winless at home in 2016 with a (0-7-1) record at The Berry....

Coming off a long trip to Alaska can be rough on a team and that’s what NMU head coach Walt Kyle saw from the bench.

“I thought we were tired and flat,” he said. “I don’t want to give any excuses, because that’s a team that we need to beat, but I think the trip and finals week had an effect. We just looked tired. We have to get our energy back because they’re a quality team,” Kyle said. “We’ll make some adjustments, but we can’t play with that dullness around us.”

I was there and would say there was around 1000. I would expect less tonight with the mid-year commencement this morning. The band probably won't be there tonight either.

I also did some math. The team is averaging 2.82 goals/game on the road (including Green Bay) and exactly 1 goal/game at home. Ouch

NMU has now had (5) shutout losses and (5) 1-goal losses this season!!!!!!!!!!!
NMU has (16) games left in the regular season....
NMU's worst season ever was in 1995-96 when they went (7-30-2)....

NMU has (16) games left in the regular season....
NMU's worst season ever was in 1995-96 when they went (7-30-2)....

They can rally back technically.

If they won all their remaining games, they would finish the regular season 20-14-2 and that would get them in the playoffs without a doubt.

They haven't had a 20 win season since 2009-2010

If they win half of their games, they would finish 12-22-2 in the regular season. That would not get them anywhere.

If they win 2/3 of their remaining games, they would finish about 15-19-2.

To finish at .500, they need to win 13 games.

In a hypothetical world: If NMU goes (13-3-0) in their last (16) games they would finish (17-17-2) going into the WCHA Playoffs.... Unfortunately you can't live by hypothetical situations in life and you have to deal with reality....

I'd just changing the coach will make it better, why hasn't it worked for your football, volleyball or basketball teams? We have our hockey team almost back to where Roque had it.

All I'm saying is that the people who actually check this website out and this thread in particular actually do know what is going on. This season is painful for all of us Cat fans. Hitting us over the head with the obviously bad numbers isn't doing us any good.

I hope NMU can have a positive finish on the second half of the season. I realizing breaking .500 on the season will be very tough. However, for Walt's legacy at NMU, as well as for the team and as a fan, I hope they can win more than they lose in the remaining 16 games.
