If NMU gets "Broomed" out of Anchorage this weekend by the #60 ranked D1 team in the country it will be about as low as I've see the program since Rick Comley's 1995-96 NMU team that went (7-30-2).... Walt Kyle's 2016-17 NMU team seems to be headed in the same direction with a (3-12-2) record and their current (1-9-1) skid.... Sooner or later they have to win a few games you would think but wins have been hard to come by so far this season and it's been very frustrating following the team this year.... NMU has some really good upper classmen, some real good Freshmen and a couple of good young goalies but it's not translating to success on the ice for some reason and I never thought they would be this bad this year.... If NMU leaves Alaska this weekend with two more losses and to the lowest ranked team in the country the wheels will have definitely fallen off the wagon and something needs to be done to save the program from falling into the abyss.... Just my take on the situation....

Ken and Mickey are having a pronunciation discussion- is it pronounced CORE o or core O? I always thought it was the latter.

Friday, the Cats scored 3, Saturday, 3 + an empty netter. The team had more shots & more scoring chances Friday. The biggest difference was that the NMU defense and goaltending was significantly better Saturday night.

Alabama-Huntsville (5-11-2) @ NMU (4-12-2) this weekend in Marquette.... NMU Soph Goalie Mathias Israelsson missed last weekend's series vs UAA with an ankle injury????

Alabama-Huntsville 4 NMU 1 (Final) tonite from Marquette.... NMU is now (4-13-2) on the season.... 1260 announced attendance at The Berry....
 
On a random side note it was pretty neat to see a female official in Marquette tonight. Krissy Morrison I believe her name was? Out of pure curiosity, does anybody know how long she's been with the league and is this a first in NCAA hockey?

Krissy has been working the WCHA Women's league for several years. She played at Wayne State. Not sure if she worked any men's games last year, but this is the first NMU game she's worked.
