So... back to back weekends against LSSU as the Cats get back into the 2017 portion of their conference schedule. I am going to predict that NMU wins all 4 games.

(4) wins for NMU vs LSSU the next two weekends???? What makes you think they can do this???? They'll have a hard time winning (1) game let alone (4) of them with the way they've been playing this season.... Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see it happen but let's get real here with this.... I don't see any indications that NMU will win very many games during the last (14) that they have left on their schedule.... Wishful thinking will only take you so far as it takes money to buy whiskey as they say....

It was the 3 beers I had. Apparently they were wrong.

Hope Cats can win at home tomorrow. At this point... they dont want to win too many. Hate to give up that 1st round draft pick.

Finally a win for NMU.... That breaks their streak of (10) games without a win.... NMU's Dominic Shine had a "Hat Trick" in the (6-4) win.... Davyd83 sounded like he needed a big mug of "Hot Brandy-Honey-Lemon" drink before each broadcast this weekend....

If NMU (5-17-2) wins their final (12) games of the regular season they'll end up (17-17-2) going into the WCHA Playoffs.... How's that for some wishful thinking???? It sure looks good on paper!!!!!!!!!!!

Short term goal: Make the playoffs! We need to make up 9 points as they sit. Definitely doable.

This will also serve as an audition for the coaching staff. They have their backs against the wall. Let's see how they come out of this.

This coaching staff is well past auditioning. I could see NMU splitting the remaining 12 games and missing out on the playoffs. From what I hear the wheels of transition are already in motion...take that for what it is.

If all they can afford is a second tier coach and third tier assistants, they won't get any better. I'd be willing to bet one of the strongest candidates has 8 years head coaching experience and has a record of 80-177-33. Boy, what a step up!

Current Western Michigan Associate Head Hockey Coach and former NMU Assistant Hockey Coach Dave Shyiak was (80-177-33) in (8) seasons as Head Hockey Coach at Alaska-Anchorage....
