I have a feeling Oleksiak stays (knock on wood...). Cronin leaves hurts, but I think the structure is there and he liked the Boston and college atmosphere. It probably doesn't hurt his family is more college oriented (Dad was a college athlete, brother was too I think), and I read somewhere they like the college approach. I think that most teams recognize his need to develop. I think is Sebastien is our coach we have the best chance of keeping him.

Sidenote: Does the Star's management situation make it easier or harder to keep Oleksiak? I think the longer it takes them to get everything in order the harder it is to move him to the OHL or even the AHL

Hokydad deserves his credit...he seems to be omnicient about these thimgs. Like I said before...would be great if he stayed...but...I agree with Hokydad here. Hope he and I are both wrong!

Hokydad is well tuned in to what is going on in our league, but "omnicient" is over the top. I will say that his shooting percentage is almost as good as Gaudreau's was this past season. ~25%

Ryecheers....Have you formed any additional thoughts on Oleksiak now that you know which team drafted him? Cool on the "shooting %" analogy.

I don't think BU even has any scholarships left for the upcoming year so wouldn't Gaudreau have to be pushed back a year? I'll believe this when I see some evidence.

Oh come on. Parker hasn't booted anyone yet this year, he will free up some scholarship space if he thinks he can get Gaudreau to come. As Scarlet pointed out a different thread, it's summer so he doesn't even have the bother of cleaning out the kids locker. He could simple send him an e-mail telling him he was voted worst team mate and poof. Scholarship.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Gaudreau have to decommit before he can be in contact with other colleges? I think he's already signed an NLI

I can't stop being doom and gloom about this team this year. I've convinced myself Cronin just sank this team and unless Scotty Bowman is walking through our head coaching doors (or Tim Army; same quality really) we are losing everybody this summer.

When does Olkesiak have to decide if he is playing in the OHL or NU by? Although in my mind, he already left Northeastern when he referred to Northeastern as "that program" in his press conference yesterday.

Gaudreau to the Flames with the 104th overall pick. If he goes to the terriers I will punch someone, mark my words.

This is from Friday, he said he's leaning toward Northeastern regardless of where he gets drafted. Now, I read that as he's likely to stick with us regardless of getting an offer to go to the Major-Juniors or a lower-tier pro league, but I hope this also applies to other colleges sniffing around. Him having signed an NLI and that being ntoed post-Cronin leaving is nice (though I suppose he could have released himself from it). Hopefully he sticks with us.

Another reason why I doubt he's going to BU. So many rumors flying and whatnot, gets a little difficult to determine what's reliable and what isn't I guess...
