Northeastern Huskies 2018-19: New Breed, Old Snarl

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2018-19: New Breed, Old Snarl

They may find themselves playing in front of an intimate gathering of family and friends what with the Red Sox on TV at the same time. Same for tomorrow night.

When I bought tickets for tomorrow night's game on Tuesday, there were very few seats left. I think its parents weekend, and there's a chance students leave early to watch the World Series, but I think it will be a good crowd.

#1 I will take the 2 points watching from home I see we passed and skated really well, that usually wins hockey games.
#2. We are a bit better with Davies
#3. What is wrong on Comm. Ave 5 games in BU and BC look terrible, I get that a coaching change may have the Terriers looking for a solution but St C hanging 7 on BC at home??? I think we are going to have our hands full tomorrow.

St C def a National contender type team.. lots of scouts will be in the building. NU show 'em what you got; you got nothing to lose, Leave it all out there Saturday. DogHouse will be behind you, Have fun, skate with them & make the most of your opportunities. Go NU Go Sox! :)

Nice win! I felt like we really shut them down most of the game. Great effort tonight

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2018-19: New Breed, Old Snarl

...My own take is that, assuming the defense and goaltending come as advertised, the scoring will take care of itself. So losing the Big Three may not be a bad thing if it opens the door to more distributed and consistent scoring among the returning vets, incoming transfers, and highly touted freshmen....

Hey I know it's bad form to quote oneself but this is what's happening.

Huge weekend sweep that will put the Big Huskies back in the national picture.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2018-19: New Breed, Old Snarl

That was the best game Ive seen them play since the Beanpot championship. Seemed to win every faceoff they needed to, defensive corps did well in space and gaps against a larger, more skilled SCSU team, and three different goal scorers is exactly what weve come to expect. Primeau continues to be a stud. Good puck movement, cycles, and honesty not many wasted touches. Super super impressive. This is a monster win.

close to 4000 in the old barn tonight. loved Cayden's poise.. both, when we were down 0-2 & especially when we went up 3-2 & they started to get some good pressure.
Great to have him composed & calm back there. Short rest 4+ days & at the hungry Terriers on Thursday, who will be looking at getting that w.

For tonight though.. gonna savor this W. Nice upset, nicer comeback.. well done you Huskies of NU! :)
Go Sox

good wknd for NU. hopefully pecararo is back sooner rather than later. looked like a nasty hit. he is a gifted offensive player & will be missed if not back in time for this series.
i will miss the thursday gm @ mathews (why thurs nu? nesn?); but hopefully catch them on the tv that night. Let's keep the momentum going against a talented, (& very hungry) opponent. Go Huskies :)

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2018-19: New Breed, Old Snarl

Northeastern moves up five spots (to #13) in this week's poll. (Strangely, St. Cloud stayed at #2.)

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2018-19: New Breed, Old Snarl

don't know about polls.. but that UMass team is looking really good, early season. they are going to be one tough opponent this yr.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2018-19: New Breed, Old Snarl

Yes, the game is on Thursday because NESN wouldn't air it otherwise . Unsure why, the Bruins don't play until Saturday and the Red Sox were always going to be done before then

NESN has Quinnipiac @ Harvard on. They probably chose that game first.

Works for me, considering the alternative would be a bad Thursday Night Game.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2018-19: New Breed, Old Snarl

I don't think the Huskies have (ever) taken the Terriers for granted & sure hope they don't this series; or its Union all over again. Go NU
