Northeastern Huskies 2014 Offseason: Resurrection's Over....Now What?

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014 Offseason: Resurrection's Over....Now What?

So Santini, Savage, Cangelosi, McCoshen, Fitzgerald, Calnan and Gilmour do not match up with NU's freshman class (I don't even know who is in your class aside from Szmatula)?

Forget about your bad knees... time to worry about your bad dose of drugs you got from your dealer.

Really! You don't have to be nasty!

Savage, Calnan and Gilmour were pretty average or less. Santini plays like a thug. His game is better suited to the pros where trying to hurt other players is de rigeur. Fitzgerald matchs up with Szmats, Cangelosi will do well and McCoshen is terrific. A freshman who gets a BC uniform isn't necessarily bestowed with superior skills. You've got several former can't miss guys on your roster who would be 4th liners on lots of HEA teams

If you don't know who else, beside Szmatula, was in our freshman class, you can't know very much about our team. Look at our scoring stats. Forget little Ferriero. He wasn't ready and rarely dressed. Pond is a checker who draws others' penalties. That's what he was recruited for and that's what he provided. The rest of the freshman forwards were far better and more productive than your group. Stevie Wonder can see that, but you can't. Enjoy your delusions.

I have not seen the scoring chance charts. Not sure why you think that I have.

As for the Ds coming in. The coaches had a long time to scout Cockerill. If they didn't think he'd help right away, they'd have left him in the USHL for another year. Owens may turn out to be a very helpful. The following year, we have Williams, who really impressed me when I saw him play. Apparently Barry is also highly regarded based on his Central scouting rank and his USHL draft position. Duschesne is supposed to be a very smart player, but didn't play in his team's last two playoff games (nor did UMass' recruit Kravitz) for "undisclosed" reasons. The iffy name is Couturier - at least from I know of him. I just don't have a handle on what he brings to the party.

They didnt play because they allegedly were caught smoking pot......And it is Kravchenko not Kravitz

Well Nick P (catchy name ey) my knees are great and I am in pretty decent shape and for my drug dealer well you will need to check him out his name is Jerry Sienfeld. Now BC has some excellent freshman but they were out played by our class and let me introduce them to you (ZAR, Hedges, Stevens, POnd Benning and Szmatula. As HHound has already stated those 5 outplayed yours but the season is over and the past is the past NU has to prove that they belong and until then it's hype. Everyone admits that the dream line was incredible however that is the past BC has to replace God 1000 points between those 3 we have to replace 33 with what we have I like our chances and oh yes we have KR and he will be a stud again

Just hit the Twitterverse confirmed that NU will be hosting Minnesota for one game and Quinnipiac for two games this upcoming season. Relatively old news, but it's nice to see the OOC matchups taking shape. Three tough, good games for our boys next year.

Are you sure it's not a home and home with Quinnipiac? I know they signed a deal to play the next 4 years.

My fault. Brain cramps from time to time. Thanks for the clarification. I wonder if the alleged transgression will affect their recruit status at either school. They should have fired it up in Colorado.;)

As always a very glass is ½ full kind of dribble from a lot of people <40 who have been conditioned to just see the world as a big blue happy marble. QUOTE]

I loved this analogy. Your post was longer than many of my term papers, (written before word processors were invented) but it was interesting and thought provoking.

I'd be curious to know when you were graduated, and what was your major that prepared you for a career as a Money manager?

BTW Thanks for taken care of so many Co-Ops. Hopefully you'll get some permanent employees from the group. For those of us interested in things other than Hockey, what has been your experience in this area? Are they Business majors or do they come from other areas. Personally, I'm still getting used to being described as a "DMSB" (D'Amore McKim School of Business) after so many years of being abbreviated as BA or CBA.:)

I'm sorry, mr Knees, please stop.

Took that info from a tweet by Josh Brown, sports columnist for the Patriot Ledger and a reporter for USCHO. I had also seen that it would be a home and home, but this is the latest info I've read. I'd imagine if we host 2 this year, QU hosts 2 in 15-16

Sounds about right if that is how they are doing it.

Let me 1st apologize if I had rubbed any body's rhubarb the wrong way. I have been reading the blogs for so long how bad we were and yes we were but this year has shown a huge step forward and frankly we should be looking at the positive steps this program has taken. We have arguably one of the best goalies in the nation, we have arguably one of the most dynamic goal scores in the country and we have a freshman who arguably one of the best in the nation plus a freshman class that has taken hockey east by storm a bunch of no names before the season and now everyone accept for one of you know there names. Plus a defense that has improved and needs yet allot more work. A team that was 2nd in penalty kill in HE yet dead last in HE. Is there things to work OH ya but is there hope OH ya there is. Everybody but 1 that could come back did. And to some of you I don't believe one minute that this was a one year deal and I don't even or will I predict that this team will win the bean pot but they will be better next season 23 wins that's what I believe and I will go out on a Limb a final 8 in the playoffs and I don't mean HE so yes I tend to be positive I am an alum and reading some of the blogs shows that this team needs to win some of the people over until then there will be no mercy

My sources (those impeccable wonders) tell me that Quinnipiac should expect to host both games next season. NU will be the host in 20-15-16.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014 Offseason: Resurrection's Over....Now What?

Time for Dr Aoun to 'release' the Hockey Assasin, make JM the Athletic Director and bring Cronin back as Head Coach.

To clarify - I really think JM is doing a great job as Head Coach (no matter what you-know-who thinks), but if Greg wants to come back to NU (which I don't think he will), give him the opportunity to do so.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014 Offseason: Resurrection's Over....Now What?

Why would anyone want Cronin back? He is just going to leave again, and probably sooner this time. I feel bad he had to be the fall guy in Toronto, but he probably lands on his feet again soon.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014 Offseason: Resurrection's Over....Now What?

There are still a few coaching vacancies in the NHL - doubt he'd be coming back to NU.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014 Offseason: Resurrection's Over....Now What?

Madigan will be here for at least the next two-three seasons, for better or worse.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014 Offseason: Resurrection's Over....Now What?

He's not coming back and they should not want him back. They have the right man for the job.
