Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014-15: Release the Hounds!

24th in the PWR is the only ranking that matters. A lose to UCONN or Maine would really hurt us in that.

amen.

btw, why is this thread not locked.. we're well over 1k.

anyway, as walter payton once said.. keep going, keep going, fighting for more yards.
:)

The 22t doesn't mean anything, we're still behind the two teams we're "tied with." It's just an oddity because we win the comparison against St. Lawrence. The extra one point doesn't actually benefit us any unless the team directly above us also loses a comparison against someone below them, because the "tie" we force is still broken by RPI.

Why are you so anxious to lock the thread? We're on a roll. Leave well enough alone. Besides, the end of the regular season is less than a month away.

Of course if they don't lock it.. that's fine by me.. relax. :)

Sounds familiar. There were some upsets in the league tournaments so the Atlantic League wound up with two seeds and Notre Dame came alive and snatched a spot. The tournament seeding is taken away fromt the hockey folks and left in the hands of the quants after the Lweague titles are determined.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014-15: Release the Hounds!

One slight correction to the article: Northeastern "wasn't close" to making the NCAA's last season? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they ended up being the first team out once the dust settled on all the conference tournaments ...

Another correction: The article states that NU beat Harvard 6-0 in the consolation game in the Beanpot last year. Actually, it was the opening round. And another: "this is a team which not too many people thought was going to be any good this season after a brutal collapse last year." HE coaches picked NU 4th in the conference. Buccigross picked NU 10th in the nation. Mistakes like these make the entire article sloppy and suspect. Amateur hour. I learned nothing.

As I read this yesterday I noticed the same things. Tons of errors.

Time to focus on things that really matter: The two most critical weekends of the season to date. Eight (8) league points up for grabs. Take 'em all and the Huskies are not only back in the hunt but also on the inside track for home ice in the playoffs. Neither UConn nor Maine (at Alfond) are to be underestimated.

UConn has a goalie fully capable to stealing 2 points on his own. And an impressive freshman star in Spencer Naas. Look for Benning/Darou to be out there when he is on the ice. I expect a split for the weekend in terms of goalies. Madigan will want to get Derick some time. Cautiously optimistic about an NU sweep.

Re: Northeastern Huskies 2014-15: Release the Hounds!

They don't score much, but, at the same time, they appear to be really stingy! Providence figured them out, but I'll be they fixed whatever problem they had that night. Could we be in for a pitcher's battle like Merrimcak succumbed to?

Any chance they change the game time tomorrow due to the storm? Last time I checked it sounded like it would start snowing in CT around noon
