I had a dream two nights ago where NU won the first game against BC and would face Yale in the Beanpot Final. Yes, Yale. Dreams are funny that way. Please help me, Dr. Freud.

No worries. Harvard is often confused with Yale!:D

As I wind down my day and prepare to head home and then make the commute to the Garden I ask myself the following
Will this be the year
Who will step up for NU
Who will be the difference maker
Or is this just another year of disappointment
Will our goaltending stand tall or will the fluke goal happen to us again and again and again
I am cautiously optimistic and hope we beat BC tonight
Good luck boys and hopefully the demons of the past are forever gone
As all of us in husky nation get ready for a battle tonight

Too much Stickhandling in the slot.. get quick shots on net!

Great Win. Tremendous team effort and aside from the 1st 5 minutes our hounds really executed in every aspect of the game. Way to go Huskies. Let's go get BU next week and bring home a pot!
 
Thx Tony. Btw, I know you mentioned it.. but even the consolation gm is gonna be important (huge) for BC & Harvard.. with the PWR standings.. & given how close you both are re the NCAA. All very good gms thus far & looks like will continue to be..

NU did what they needed to do (what they did against BC at home a few weeks ago, but got a couple shots to go in this time):

(1) be aggressive forechecking, high pressure, to keep BC from setting things up simply. This resulted in tons of turnovers in the BC zone or around the blue line, or giveaways that NU defensemen picked up around mid-ice.
(2) Witt had to make a couple huge, game-stealing/preserving saves
(3) Had to stay out of the box - considering how lowly rated the PK unit is. Only one penalty, awesome.

Overall, I'm impressed by how the team has seemed to handle this season mentally. For all the trials and tribulations of the first portion, they didn't fold up the tent. They seemed ready for a game like this, and didn't get deflated after one or two things went badly like many previous Husky teams have done in a Beanpot contest. Credit to the coaches and leaders on the team for having them mentally ready.

..because of the 1 day delay.. we have a short week before UMass, Fri.. then BU, Monday.

I too was very impressed with the forecheck last night. Guys worked hard and with discipline.. keep it up!

No problem -- but yep, I am pretty excited to come up for next week even though BC isn't in the final given how big that Harvard game is. Also it would be kind of fun to see you guys burn Huntington Ave to the ground if you win.

Yes an excellent win however not a huge win. This team is an excellent team to pick yourself from the ashes shows allot of character and allot of maturity. The coaches have Done an instrumental job in keeping the faith. As I stated earlier this will be a very interesting 2nd half if the season. Everyone is contributing and that is a mark of a championship team. They may not win it but they will not go down without a fight. They have to come with one of there best games next Monday BU is a great team and how they persevered against Harvard shows all of us that they have great players so lets see what happends but as of yesterday it shows us that husky nation is strong.

Im hoping and praying someone has an extra ticket to Monday's game,I am still on short term disability so I cant give you much money for it,either way I'm Happy I can watch it on TV,I was there is '88' when they won and pray to be there in '15' #GoNU :)
