Because he is bigger than the guy he hit. It was a hard hit that is what got him the gate. He gets punished for being a big physical player.

No reason to make the hit? Wow! 2-0 in the first, no team has ever blow a 2 goal 1st period lead before. You play physical, that is his game, he ask him to stop he becomes less effective.

He needs to learn to pick his spots better. There was no reason to charge and crush that kid there.

There was every reason to crash and hit that kid, that is the play. It resulted in a penalty, 5 minute major cause those ref's were awful. Its his game, its the way the NU d have to play. It was like it was a revenge hit, no reason to pick spots. Its the play.

There was no reason to go for that hit. And it was a penalty that could have gotten Harvard back in the game. A hockey east caliber team would have scored at least one there. His game needs to be smarter.

And yet Fennell is Madigan's first choice for a DMan to replace Darou. The same Fennell with 0 points to his name in a year and a half. Would have liked to have seen someone with at least a little offensive potential get the call..

Witt was outstanding all gm. Rest of the team.. not so much.

That 2nd period was the worst I've seen em play in a while. Lackluster, no intensity & giving up another SHG. Couple that with outstanding backcheck & shot blocking by the Minutemen in the 3rd.. & that was the gm. Even on the empty netter, much like on the SHG, UMass outhustled us.. much like most of the night.

The last time we played them, we were down as well.. but there was no quit. Not so much tonight.

Going to be a tough night Monday.. but I guess that's why they play the gms. The hit from behind on Sauce should've been a 5.. glad he is okay.

7 Powerplay goals scored in conference play. 6 shorthanded scored against us in conference play. Its why I say always look at the teams stats in conference only, the out of conference stuff is pure fluff.

Maybe instead of yelling at the refs when a guy blows out his knee even when the call is wrong, JM should spend some time yelling at who ever is drawing up the PP. Classy team we got here.

JM in the post game presser, we talked about how fast their PK plays. Its fast. Yeah, its also been awful this year. 2nd worst in the conference. Seems like the rest of the league/country has not found it "to fast".

Just an absolutely ugly and ill-timed loss. Well, I guess all in for the Beanpot, sigh.

IF the Beanpot win vs Harvard went to their heads and made them
arrogant thats fine because now that should be out of their system, it happens to people and teams, but if this is really how the Huskies respond to speedy teams and their attitude is good then the Beanpot will be ugly, BC is faster and vastly more talented than UMass,I subscribe to the former and believe, for whatever reason NU excels as the underdog and will bounce back and play a good game Monday and yes they can win the Beanpot

They can win the Beanpot, because they will be up for the game. They looked like they were disinterested last night. I mean they really are not a good home team.

I don't like being over confident, this could work against you. Let's say if BC play wells, they have a very good chance to take it. Don't forget Holy Cross and getting tooled by Maine up in Orono.

I saw some things I liked Friday and some things I didn't like. Just take care of the puck and don't get too fancy.

Speaking of their post game presser, why did NU remove it from YouTube? Did he say something about the refs or the team that he didn't want out there? I never got to see it. Would be interested if anybody who saw it noticed anything objectionable about it.
