Honestly though, his point is obviously that trophy-less seasons are a rarity for BU and commonplace for NU.

I wasn't even thinking about how it is a rarity at BU...more as that NU hasn't won a trophy since when?1988? You forget about the HE tournament we re about to win Steve F...

The Beanpot is not the only trophy in college hockey, I'm assuming most recently there was a trophy for the Ledyard Bank Classic Championship in 2010, which would put you off by 22 years.

haha i was going to say that math is off but ok. I thought I had read somewhere that NU hasn't won a trophy since some year in the 80s. I realize there are other trophies I just honestly wasn't sure when the last trophy came. Thanks for the answer though quiddlet.

Edited... they also won the Badger Showdown in 2007, though they didn't play Wisconsin.

well thats just odd but ok a win is a win. I give them more credit. I figured they had to have won a tournament in 08-09 with the team they had but I guess not

Only one they didn't lose to us was the Gopher Classic or whatever it's called, but Thiessen decided to pick up a delay of game penalty in OT and they lost to the Goophers. (BS call, I know)

hahahah i still have it...that is where I got it from...thanks haha and oh ok I figured they should have won one with Thiessen in goal so losing a BS call makes sense.

Yeah, I don't have a good explanation for that. A few people started it, and everyone else picked it up once they realized what was going on (something simple like counting to 10) I guess for some people it seemed like harmless fun. Most of us applauded when Millan got up. The Doghouse has always been respectful of injuries, however, I'm sure a few other people remembered Thiessen getting booed by you guys when he was down on the ice at the Beanpot in... '08 I believe. The Doghouse, like any student section, is full of diehards and the most casual know-nothing fans, the whole spectrum.

You're right to try and stop chants like 'F the Huskies', because everyone at the top of 107 found it hilarious that there's always that one moment where BU kids just resort to straight vulgarity and no creativity.

You mean like "_ _ _ _ 'em up! _ _ _ _ 'em up! BC _ ucks!" That one? I've always wondered what the (insert any school name except BC here) fans thought when they heard that. MENSA candidates...

I hope to see Guzior on the ice on Thursday. He has given this team energy and an edge that I have not seen all year. Cronin being back on the bench might keep him disciplined enough to stay away from those game misconducts while still being a annoyance. This team needs an antagonizing player that will get the ratdogs off their game and Guzior plays that role perfectly.

Unless things have changed, "Rough" is not a vulgarity.

The fans of other schools probably think the same thing that Cornell opponents think when they hear "Screw BU, [current opponent], too".

Let's not pretend BU is unique in this regard.
