Northeastern at Boston University HEA Quarterfinals

Re: Northeastern at Boston University HEA Quarterfinals

Hopefully what BU realized for good last night is you have to get Rawlings moving in order to beat him. If he's allowed to square to the shooter, he's going to make the stop nearly every time because he's so big. They did a nice job getting him moving laterally with some traffic in front of him to neutralize his size advantage.

Totally agree. I am hoping he gets the start because this Witt kid can play. The only goal we got in two periods was Joe Pereira putting on the hard hat and willing that puck into the goal...pretty sure he jabbed at it like three time before it went in

Re: Northeastern at Boston University HEA Quarterfinals

Last nights game was the same game as Thursday nights game, except the teams switched roles. NU got out to a lead on G1 and didn't let BU back into the game. In G2, BU got out to a lead and held NU off. Would BU have gotten out to the lead without Rawling's perfromance? Doubtful. I think a hard decision must be made to start Witt. I don't think you can start Rawlings, even with a short leash, and chance giving BU a lead that NU won't be able to recover from.

Re: Northeastern at Boston University HEA Quarterfinals

Witt needs to start tomorrow night. It has turned into a mental thing for Rawlings. He just can't come up big in the big game and with this game being arguably the biggest of his career (yes a HE playoff game 3 @ BU is bigger than the Beanpot final earlier this year) you need to sit him. Both teams are tired hitting the end of their seasons and it's gonna come down to who has the mental fortitude and toughness to find the will to win.

Re: Northeastern at Boston University HEA Quarterfinals

Northeastern's top line is going to play their heads off tomorrow. All seniors who don't want to end it like this.

Re: Northeastern at Boston University HEA Quarterfinals

It will definitely be interesting now that both teams are win or season is over. In theory, yes, NU with more seniors, should have the edge.

In order to try to influence the outcome, I'll bring up the fact that I recently watched parts of the 1995-96 game early in the season when BU scored 5 SHGs against the Huskies. Jay Pandolfo, of course, had the SH Hat Trick, Drury had that goal right off the draw, and BU won 10-3. That game was also remembered for the inspiring return of JP McKersie in the third period after his coma-inducing bike/car accident a year earlier. BU fans went from seeing Travis Roy go down to JP returning in a span of less than 3 weeks.

Tonight, I'll settle for a simple W:D

Three Keys for NU

1. Senior Top Line playing like it' could be the end

2. Goalie Play (please Witt)

3. Discipline

Re: Northeastern at Boston University HEA Quarterfinals

Question for NU fans: bigger game for your Huskies, Beanpot final vs. BC or tonight's game vs. BU?

Re: Northeastern at Boston University HEA Quarterfinals

Is this game on TV? I checked NESN and the schedule shows a game at 4pm today but this game is at 7pm

Definitely no live games on NESN or anywhere else tonight. NESN takes one game per quarterfinals. Both games next Friday on NESN and the championship on NESNplus.

Good question as to which is a "bigger" game. The Beanpot game meant more historically. I'm just as nervous as I was that night. I hate bu more than I hate bc and I want to end their season. I'd have to say the Beanpot because that would have had more meaning to a lot more people.
