I will be there Fri for sure.. hoping we can wrap up this wknd in 2.. but I fully expect Maine to make it as difficult for us as they can. My Cronin bobblehead will be cheering on JM & co. the other gms.. :-)

They may not be happy but it's no surprise. The various leagues--rather than home teams--run the playoffs, and not just in hockey. See Post #793.

Forget the Alamo. Remember the Merrimack Series of yesteryear.

1998

First place bu lost to last place Merrimack 4-1 5-6, 5-4 in the quarter finals. Ron Anderson, the "Mack" coach (and bu alum) had already been told that his contract would not be renewed. His players gave him a wonderful sendoff.:D:eek:

01 F Robby Griffin (Jr. Bruins U16) commits to NU. Very creative in-state scorer, 5'10 + coming into frame, 2nd on team with 7-27-34/32GP.

Bummer,Hockey East (Pack Network) isnt going to get any money from me,Its a bogus move on their part! The people at GoNUxstream work so hard and are very generous for providing free broadcasts, they would deserve a little money if anyone,nevertheless I am very thankful for all GoNuxstream and all NU does at keeping the game affordable us.

Is there a reason you chose to respond to mookie's post that was a slam against Notre Dame and not NU with that comment? Seriously?

I don't know about us fans.. hoping team is not overlooking Maine.. that's all.

Playoff hockey.. season on the line..
should make for some good games (definitely closer than last wknd.. can bet on that).

Go NU :) (just continue to go out & have fun)

Yes, Scarlet, there is a reason.
In my typically myopic manner, I misread "nd" for nu. (After all, this is the Northeastern thread). I assumed Mookie was being squirrelly again and I answered in kind. I meant no offense to Mookie. I can appreciate that he is a master of the creatively succinct post - even though my Huskies have often been the object of his "affection".:)

For what it's worth, I also read it as NU, and didn't even notice I read it wrong until just now when I wasn't understanding the converstaion and went back to re-read everything. Easy mistake to make considering we don't have any right to look past the 6-11 game after last year.
 
I read it as nd all along.. & we are playing well.. but we have gms this wknd.

As a Hockey East Head Coach said this week..

"playoffs are the ultimate reset".. "everyone's 0-0"

remember that team..
& Go NU

I believe said coach was Red Gendron.

Lets go Huskies! Whatever this weekend brings, it will definitely be the last time Kevin Roy plays at Matthews. Obviously this year didn't go as he (or we) thought it would for him but certainly an all-time great Husky. In my 10 years of watching NU there has not been a more dynamic and skilled scorer.
