Only bad thing about playing Maine next week is that they're dead last in HE in the PWR. Case and point in that we won tonight and dropped a spot.

Sorry but KRoy had no business getting involved in the scrums. That's what enforcers (spelled "Collier" and "Kurker" are for. Maine set a trap for next week and KRoy almost fell into it.

Two more wins vs. Maine won't do us any good in the pariwise. However, two wins vs. Notre Dame would greatly improve our pairwise position. It would not only help our RPI, but would improve our common opponent stat vs. many other teams. A loss in the next two playoff series would be devestating for the RPI though which is really the driver of the pairwise.

As of now we can't get wrapped up in the PWR on a day to day basis. Our opportunity to advance won't come until the HEA QF, if and only if we can get past Maine in two games.

Calling it a trap is being polite. Maine's behavior was more than just aggressive physical play. Some of those hits could have caused serious injury. Really an embarrassment to the coaching staff and all of their fans. Classy way to end the season.:rolleyes:

So he gets blames for all the bad but gets no credit for the good. You can have your opionion, but that really just sounds like a vendetta.

I'm in the wait and see mindset. They've had good stretches before under JM (admittedly not this good) and they haven't performed when it mattered. Let's see them make noise in the HE tournament before we anoint JM. I will say that I've been critical of his player development from one year to the next and it's clear Nolan, Sikura, ZAR, etc. have all taken big steps forward.

It's another Madigan season and though team is playing excellent hockey & is fun to watch.. Coach forgot some basic math and preparation from first half of season. The kids, the hockey is battling through those odds continuously. Really not fair to these guys, .. the Coaches not having them prepared some.. first half of season.. now asking for almost perfection to get through to NCAAs.

When the 'good' happens, will give credit where credit is due. This is a message board.. not a chorus line.
Of course I hope I am proven wrong on the guy. Learning on the job.. bound to hit a few.. Let's beat somebody!! :-) Go Huskies

I don't know what to make of this team. We're playing really well. I believe we can beat anyone in the country right now. But we are just 1-10-4 this season against teams in the top 20 of the pairwise... Even on this streak, our competition has been pretty weak.

It's just another confusing season. Much like every season. I really hope we beat Maine and have a chance to play Notre Dame (or lowell if bu loses to umass...lol) and show that we are really playing better and it's not just the weaker competition

I don't think I can be accused of being an apologist and I certainly don't take issue with the quoted stat. But of the three ties, one was at Conte, where BC rarely does anything but win, one was at Tsongas, where UML is always strong, one was at South Bend, and one was at Matthews vs then #1 QPac. Of the 10 losses, the ones to BC and UML were defeats snatched from the jaws of victory while the loss at ND was close (one goal). So it's not like they were totally dominated, except by bu, PC, and Minny.

Totally agree with what you say about Round 2 of the playoffs but not looking past Round 1 at this point.

Also-- for a long time-- they led the NCAA in 1-goal losses. How ever far they end up in HE playoffs, they will give the opposition some very tense moments.

Two nice moments from last night--- 1) Tanner Pond scoring a goal-- played a nice game, drew a bunch of penalties, didn't retaliate. Obviously, he doesn't get a lot of ice-time, but really works in practice. 2) Classy move by Madigan to get Derick Roy into the game and allow him to skate off the Matthews ice for the final time as a winner.

That 1-10-4 stat is telling. Regardless, take care of maine and then you'll get your chance to prove what you are. I know i'm basing it on results against bad teams but the bottom line is you have been dominating those teams. ND isn't a team that blows you out, so i expect you to give them a series and maybe even win it.
