Northeastern 2015-16: Hobey Roy Kenobi and the Freshman Force

He used his timeout at the end of the first period after an icing call.
You are obviously an astute observer of the game and your opinions should be held in the highest regard.

Thanks for reminding RR. He has been known to have a conveniently poor memory when he wants to take a shot at JM. However, if Wood has a history as a thug, it should be pretty easy to corroborate.

As for your last comment, it was accurate and elegantly stated. I can only add the emoticon for sarcasm - but my IPad won't cooperate.

We really need to get this guy to replace Doc Emrick, he clearly knows more about hockey.

Holy exaggeration batman. But to answer your question, i didn't see the penalty tonight. As for wood, he has taken some penalties and can be a bit out of control but rossi's take is laughable. Hasn't played "dirty" at all this year. Has been wreckless at times but nothing that stands out as dirty.
Perhaps one person's "dirty" is another person's "wreckless"? It IS really unusual to see BC as the most penalized team in the country, and Wood does have the most Penalty Minutes in all of HE (including non-con games).
To think, all these years, my Merri-hack teams have just been playing "wrecklessly":D

I can only go off what I see. I did not see the Wood major against NU. It was away from the puck. From what I have seen of him, he takes the puck aggressively to the net. If that's the worst thing I've seen him do, I am not gonna call him dirty. Coaches are always preaching crash the net, etc. When did it become dirty? He'll learn that if you breathe on goalies in this league, you go off for goalie interference. If he doesn't, he will pick up more penalty minutes. And by the way, this is not the first year where penalties have been an issue for BC. A lot of teams diving and flopping around out there ;)

Stop complaining you haven't even played BU yet...

Just admit your guy is a hack and let the NU fans have their thread back.

The police are here!! He was just quoting me

You have a right to remain silent. Anything you say or spel can be used as evidence against you. :p

..not any more convenient a memory than those of you who relentlessly defend his coaching tenure at NU.

And then there are those who questioned his appointment five years ago and carp mercilessly when things don't go quite as we'd prefer.

All I've ever asked of our coaching staffs is that they put a "competitive" team on ice. They showed that they could compete this past weekend. They have yet to show that they know how to win.

Given their brutal start against a brutal schedule,I, too, will be very cranky if this team can't play over .500 hockey for the rest of the season - starting with Michigan State on the 19th.

..you are an apologist for Madigan like no other.
Season after season.. the rhetoric..it is an art .. really.. that few can match.

Does it really matter who the coach is? Let's be honest, while you currently employ college hockey's coaching version of Forrest Gump behind the bench, it's not like NU has ever historically succeeded with any coach.

Cronin was about to but then when he left, it cost them recruits like Johnny Gaudreau and who knows ? You have to admit he is heads above JM or Crowder in moving the program forward.

They have had high picks before (1st rd even) and still played the roll of HEA red headed stepchild.

can we please get some NU Hockey history for tomorrow Dec. 10th? :p Seems like NU should start their season after the first of the year because they don't show up until after it. Kinda points to the coach i would think:cool:

True enough. I personally believe Cronin had the program on the edge of greatness until our inept but oh so Politically Correct AD totally overreacted to a texting practice that was in the process of being legalized while the track coach, who handed out illegal inducements, was allowed to retire, presumably with benefits. His handling of these two situations reveals Peter Roby as an effete hypocrite who left a corrupt track program pretty much alone while transforming the hockey program from the brink of national prominence to the depths of national embarrassment. My contempt for this man knows no bounds.

The head coach certainly seems to matter at Lowell and Providence. At the time of JM's hiring, the 3 schools we're pretty close. Now its obviously night and day. As others have said, it would have been nice to see Greg Cronin coach Johnny Gaudreau and Jon Gillies.

Being a .500 team is things going "not quite as we'd prefer". Not having a conference win in the first 11 HE games is a complete and utter disaster and it starts with the guy behind the bench.

I do love when mad dog jim goes ape s h i t behind the bench. Gonna miss that when he's gone.
