No, you suck. CC v. Denver

Re: No, you suck. CC v. Denver

It's Hockey night !
Prelims: BU-BC, gophs-purple mavs, gophs-sioux women

The Main Event
DUmb vs CC

I like how you worked in the team colors. That's a classy touch. I'm headed out now to see if I can find CCtig.

DU is full of no class goons. The goalie, the Finland reject, dives trying to get a call in the OT. It was only fitting that Krushelnyski lit him up with the stamp goal. Princess Zucker of suckland dives left an right and is highly efficient at diving. He gets touch and he falls over. It's a shame McDermott didn't punt his head across the ice. BTW, the call on Eamon, the 5 minute "elbowing" was the worst call of the season. Second place was for worst call was the missed call when some no class goon hit Guentzel in the head with a dileberate attempt to injure elbow to the head. No call, unbelievebale. Shanahan in the NHL would Shana-ban that pioneer for a few games. It was only fitting we won when your goalie threw his stick. I hate DU, and I love nights like tonight.

May the curse of Finnish pro goalie continue to torment DU for years to come.

How is this thread post-game silent given that game?
Can't speak for anyone else, but I just got home. Still grinning ear to ear. :D

That was one of the most unbelievable finishes I have ever seen, and to have that happen in THIS rivalry?? Wow.

CC was scrambling at times in this game, and I'm still concerned about their defensive play, but I'd rather focus on positives right now, because this was a GREAT win. I think whenever you can beat a team as good as Denver without playing anywhere close to your best hockey, it's a good sign. CC kept working hard, and Joe Howe was unbelievable in goal for them. Seriously, they owe this win to Joe, as he made some great saves, including one on a breakaway near the end of regulation, then stopped the follow up shot immediately after.

Penalty shot in OT. Well, I've never seen a game winning, penalty shot, overtime goal. Then again, I don't suppose many people have! It was freakin' AWESOME, and such an exciting thing to see in person. Alexander Krushelnyski made a great move on the goal, and the rest is a blur. I was going nuts as I watched the team mob Krusher on the ice. This would have been an incredible ending to ANY game, but for it to happen for CC against DU? Well THAT will make it one of the most memorable moments ever for me as a sports fan.

Wow what a game. One of the best I've seen in awhile. Of course I hate the result but I still enjoyed watching what was a hard fought, incredibly intense game. The officiating was seriously atrocious, however, but you can't find any fault in the call that resulted in a penalty shot and ended the game.

Agreed on all counts. Going into overtime, I laughed a little bit. The lady next to me kiddingly asked, "what are you laughing at?" I smiled and responded, "Because this game has been awesome!" It had that playoff intensity and feel to it, and the World Arena was rockin'.

Ho hum. Just another night of CC/DU hockey. ;)

Except for the score:(, that was truly a great game.
National tv for "most" of the game.
Rivalry! Intense! Great plays! Great Goals! Chippy! H*ll, Yes!
Penalty shot in OT to win the game--Unbelievable!

No matter, cc still sucks

:):p:D

Re: No, you suck. CC v. Denver

Wow is a good way to put it. Congratulations to CC on the win. I never miss attending any of these games. Last night was worth the trip/effort. Had to be one of the most exciting finishes in the long history of this rivalry. Amazing game after an amazing game last week against Miami. In both cases DU came out on the short end. Not from a lack of effort. I couldn't believe the number of high quality scoring chances we had last night. The boys had to be crushed. Next home game is against Union which will most likely be another high quality game. Like I said last night before the game as CH fans we're blessed to have such quality programs in CO.

Re: No, you suck. CC v. Denver

Yep, good game, for sure. I wouldn't put it above DU's victory over CC at McNichols arena in the Denver Cup, but I'd say it's in the top 5 DU-CC games over the last 25 years.

Man, we shoulda had it! Zucker with a breakaway with a minute left in the game...but Howe made a great save.

I'm definitely looking forward to the next DU-CC game at Magness. Should be another good one. Looking forward to seeing Ryder on the ice for that game, and the Tiggers lying in his wake. They won't know what hit em, but they'll suspect that it was a Ryder truck.

Re: No, you suck. CC v. Denver

Thanks bud. The WCHA needs to do what Hockey East does and have highlights right on their front page.

Yeah, yeah, have another drink. Classy post dude!! Anyway, wow, what a game!! Although I was really disappointed in the result, I have to say I was a moved by the reaction and the emotions of the Krushelninski and his teammates. That had to be the highlight of this kid's career. I was genuinely happy for him. We won 5-4 a couple of weeks ago, they win 4-3 last night, it's all good, the way a rivalry is supposed to be!

I for one stuck around the arena to chat with several of the CC players after the game. It was 12:45 am before I got home, was pretty wore out by then. Like the players I spent considerable energy.

Re: No, you suck. CC v. Denver

I just wanted to add...

Getting home at 4am then working at 830am after that game was BRUTAL!

Big props go to Ronmexico and the others who were at the Bee after the game. It was a great time after a truly great hockey game.

@Penaltyboxbeast - Seriously, you won the game and it was a fantastic hockey game. Flaming like that is really lame. There were calls that went both ways that many of us were scratching our heads to. Our Finnish THIRD STRING goalie was brilliant in the game. Keep in mind, Brittian and Murray are both injured...I thought Oki was fantastic. Howe was brilliant as well.

As I was upset Denver lost, I thought it was a fantastic game. And beast, show some class of your own. Your other fans did on Friday night. I did in defeat as well...

Ready for round 3 in February.

You missed the fun at the Bee!

Agreed, Dubbie, on all counts. Luckily MOST people here on both sides of this rivalry have some sense of class, win or lose.

I didn't think it was necessarily the best QUALITY game by both teams (lot of interruptions in play, some sloppy passing, etc), but both goaltenders were fantastic, and the game had a playoff feel to it from the opening faceoff. The intensity and of course that ending made this another one of the GREAT CC/DU games, no matter which side you're on. And once again, as is fairly typical of this rivalry, it is a thrilling win for one side, and a devastating loss for the other. It seems uncommon to have a run of the mill, "normal" game between these two! ;)

Seriously...I think each of these games takes a couple years off my life!

We had fun too dubbie! For those that don't know, there is always a wait to get into the Bee. Dubbie showed up early and saved a space for me and my guests at his table. We still had to wait but he saved us a solid 20 mins. Also, he was fun to chat with. Thanks dude! FYI, CC fans were outnumbered at the Bee but we all had a good time...
