Are we sure Al Sharpton isn't sick? The guy is so thin that he kind of looks like a caricature. Huge head, tiny body.

She really needs to listen to the leaders in that community who pretty much unanimously said this was the right idea. If this was just a curfew against blacks we could have this discussion, but it's a curfew for everyone. The modus operandi of the looters was pretty clear: let the protesters and mourners have their time, get all the attention and then these guys use that as cover to go in and loot. By taking away the protesters, they take away the cover and either the looters stay home or it's easy for the police to catch them.

She's an intelligent person but she says some really stupid things.

I don't think the world would be so lucky. Imagine how much better off everyone would be if he would have died 50 years ago...

I'm not able to name someone so thoroughly disreputable who has done so well. Please recall, during the height of the Tawana Brawley hoax, one of the two disbarred lawyers who were his assistants, quoted him as saying his goal was to become the "baddest n-word" in NYC. From where I sit, he's succeeded. More's the pity.

I hope when I go, I'm old and at home drinking a fine whiskey and watching the sun set lakeside.

I'd rather die and have it mean nothing. I don't want to be a cause célèbre (thanks autocorrect!). By the time the media and the jackals get done with my story, they'll have chrwed it up, spit it out, and made it about them.
