Yeah, if it was me I wouldn't touch Gibson with a 10-foot pole, but he went there...

I was kind of surprised, Oldman might be one of the last Hollywood people I would've expected to pop off like this. Wonder if he's off the wagon.

Those are the choices in our hyper "outraged" society aren't they? He's either crazy or drunk or channeling Fritz Kuhn.

I swear, I'm going to conjure up an official-looking story about a health organization recommending that men over 19 should remove their nipples. I'll put it on FB. Then we can all sit back and count the number of idiots in the ER because they were sawing away in the kitchen with a steak knife.
Oh, please do this!! Throw in something about how it decreases the odds of your sons turning out gay and it will spread like wildfire, and the gays will have an easy way to spot the homophobes. ;)

Only "the gays" would be able to spot homophobes? The rest of us wouldn't be able to see a guy at the beach or locker room who's missing a nipple and know why he did it? Would we become spontaneously blind?

No, we would get to point and laugh at them too. Just the gays would really get a good chuckle out of it.

No, the ones I know don't get a chuckle out of meeting homophobics.

You're right, that was wild speculation on my part. Consider it withdrawn.

Is there a double standard? Yes. Gibson, however, is a known quantity at this point - it's not just one outburst with him, and it's been way worse than calling some weaselly TMZ "cameraman" the six-letter f-word. Everyone ought to be careful about giving Gibson any benefit of the doubt.

I occasionally find myself sympathizing with Alec Baldwin. I generally lie down 'till it passes.

Looks like the "KFC kicks the hideously scarred little girl out of the restaurant because she's upsetting the customers" story is a hoax. But KFC says they're not withdrawing their pledge of $30,000 to help with her treatment. And they've even lined up a reconstructive surgeon to do the work pro bono. Things are looking good for the child. After all, she suffered frightful injuries and isn't responsible for her Tobacco Road relatives. But shame on all of us who jumped to conclusions on this one. When will be ever learn to be just a tiny bit less credulous?
