That reminds me. My wife had a manual transmission in her Cobalt years ago. Had issues with the service manager during one trip (he argued that work needing to be done was because of her driving, not faulty parts). She humbled him when it turned out that the work WAS warranty work indeed AND the service manager had to admit in front of the whole dealership that "I need to have someone go bring your car up for you because *mumbling* I can't drive your car."

I posted this on GPL as well but I think this qualifies for nice planet:

Some cockface in our corec soccer league decided to full blast kick me while I was down and had the ball. I don't know if I have any fractures or anything but my hand has some broken blood vessels. I'm sure it's going to look pretty tomorrow. I couldn't even get my glove back on the hand afterwards.

It's a corec league, there is no reason to drive your foot through the keeper. I have never seen someone not pull up on that ball like that. It's stupid in a corec league. Stupid. We play to stay in shape not to go out there and kill each other trying to win.

The worst part is in probably going to miss a couple games because of this.

It doesn't matter what sport it is, there are some people out there that just can't give up on the idea that this is their shot to go pro or something. I've seen it in beer league hockey games happening to my teammates and me, and I know a guy from high school who can't play hockey anymore because another guy drove him into the boards during a higher level rec game. The hit broke my former classmate's collar bone, and something weird about the break and heal that won't allow him to ever play again - can't shoot anymore. I play in a pickup game, and we had a guy there who slashed me three times, I watched him crosscheck a few other guys, and even tripped one more. That's just what I saw. All in one game. I balled him out after the game, when I was leaving the locker room. A third guy told me the next week that this other guy said that I was too high strung and needed to chill out, but the third guy has been playing with me for a number of years, tells him that it's the first time he'd ever seen me genuinely pi**ed off after a game. The next week, the a***ole player was an absolute tinker bell out there. It started to make me think that these guys don't realize what they're doing until they're confronted with it. Or they're just a***oles.

ISIS has now declared Syria and Iraq a caliphate and is now just calling itself IS (Islamic State) saying they have control over all Muslims.

I wonder how big of a fan Al Qaeda is of this little revelation. I doubt it would happen, but that'd be popcorn-worthy to see AQ and ISIS turn on each other. It would be like a bad WWE storyline.

That kind of already happened. I thought I read that some dude in AQ basically denounced AQ from the ISIS leader b/c the ISIS guy was just a little TOO crazy in his ideas. Yeah, you read that right.

Someone that crazy is bound to do something stupid. And likely sooner rather than later. Let's just hope they aim it away from us, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
