Ugh.


At least 23 governors, expressing fears about terrorism, are taking action — through executive order, a request to federal officials or some other means — to prevent Syrian refugees from settling in their states.

Their stand in the name of public safety began Sunday and escalated quickly Monday, igniting a debate over whether states even have the power to refuse people based on their nationality.

"On fleek" just means "I am 16." Like "patriarchy" means "I am 46" and "vote Republican" means "I am 76."

This is not an Onion article. Keep that in mind as you read. A free yoga class at the University of Ottawa has been banned by student leaders.

Jennifer Scharf, the yoga teacher, had been offering the class since 2008 reports the Ottawa Sun. She says she was shocked and saddened when she heard the news.

Staff at the Centre for Students with Disabilities said in an email that “while yoga is a really great idea and accessible and great for students ... there are cultural issues of implication involved in the practice... Yoga has been under a lot of controversy lately due to how it is being practiced.”

It adds that the cultures that yoga is taken from, “have experienced oppression, cultural genocide and diasporas due to colonialism and western supremacy ... we need to be mindful of this and how we express ourselves while practising yoga.”

4 cops injured, 2 others hurt, are the reports.

I have a friend that is pet-sitting about 5 minutes from the location. :eek: She's safe right now, hope it stays that way.

A guy like that is usually a lone operator, thankfully. She'll be fine.

I am staying safe everyone! Not going outside. Listening to the police scanner and they do have eyes on the shooter inside the Planned Parenthood building right now.
