I couldn't figure out where it was. I'm guessing it's rural?

No. Outer ring of suburbs. Stateofhockey and bbdl are more knowledgeable of the area in general, as they live(d) around there. Lots of white trash.

In a neighboring city this summer, I saw a guy with a jean jacket, smoking a cig, mullet, trucker hat, and carrying a case of PBR on his shoulder. I just said to myself, "Yup."

Ah yes, my hometown making me proud once again. Shouldn't be much of a surprise, the city's name is Coon Rapids for Pete's sake.

Anoka County is definitely the least "evolved" of the metro area counties. That said, there are a ton of great people that don't pull or put up with this crap there. It's just that the nutbags are very vocal and active.

That area is known for its.....Wonderbread. Or Cracka Arse Crackas. Saltines. Pe**erwoods. Etc.

Not really. CRapids is pretty, umm, ethnic. Especially for the Northern burbs.

Edit: i mean, its not like Ham Lake

Is it? Things have changed, then.

Good edit, btw. Very true.

When I graduated high school my class was at least 95% white. It's maybe 50% now.

Right. When it comes to this general area (Blaine, Anoka, Andover, CRapids, etc.) Coon Rapids is the most diverse, from what I can tell. It fits the Anoka County stereotype less and less as time goes on.

Blaine is still pretty cracker, though, from what I can tell.

The only other two cities in the county like it are Fridley and Columbia Heights. Moving up the highway 10 corridor. Anoka is next.

In all honesty, that could be 50% of my neighbors, except the beer would be Miller Lite or Yuengling.

It is overall, there is a Somali community there, though. Blaine is going to be huge. Lots of land, lots of money. As they continue to turn 65 into a freeway, look out.

Yeah, those ramps near the McD's/Northgate...I remember when that was just a regular stoplight intersection. Things are gonna get crazy up there.

Also, what he described is a Minnesota hipster. Not necessarily white trash. Admittedly, there isn't much of a difference.

This guy....this guy was for real. Zero chance on being a hipster. He was an honest representative of that area. I can smell a hipster like a fart in a car.

A Nordeast hipster just started with my group last week. Today he was trying to tell me that no goalie in the game of hockey has ever been popular or well known for their quality of play, only for the stupid things they say. And he's a Wings fan, so this could become a very trying time for me.

Wow. Just...wow.

This person reminds me of a person that sucks.

He's not a hockey fan. He's an NBA spy....

To be fair, that statement has been half-true for every Wings goalie since Sawchuk was in his prime.

But he's still a moron.

Not true, unless you mean cracker to be white thug. Then yes, very much so. I think of it more as the hood on the west side of 65. When we were kids, all of my friends who lived over there called it Cloverhood. The east side of 65 is where ALL of the money is. Between Club West, the golf course, The Lakes, North Oaks West. Even older money like what used to be known as Olympic Glen. There are pockets that are pretty cracker though. The mobile home parks for sure. Lots of meth busts there. But for the most part, Blaine has become very rich over the last 20 years. They aren't an Edina, yet, but they are on the rise and have been for a long time.

Coon Rapids and Ham Lake, on the other hand, have more crackers than a saltine factory. Though, as you get further north they become less cracker and more hick. Pretty much 242 is/was the dividing line for me. Though that line has become very blurred since development has exploded. Anything south of say, old 10, is very much crackertown. Until you start getting into the Somali, Hmong, and the other pockets as you get closer to Minneapolis.
