Re: Nice Planet #8: You People Make Me Sick.

IINM it was always fine to drink during Prohibition; the law was against manufacture, transport, and sale.

You are that annoying guy at the party who has to correct everyone's jokes and anecdotes arent you...

;)

Re: Nice Planet #8: You People Make Me Sick.

Didn't they cite people who were at the underground drinking establishments too?

They may have cited them as "frequenting a place of ill repute" or the like. IIRC a favorite police trick was to send in an underage person and then arrest everybody for "contributing to unruliness/delinquency."

Of course they only did that if the proprietor didn't pay protection, which makes it pretty much exactly like the war on drugs.

Does anyone doubt when Kepler's kids were young and they made a cute observation he ripped them to shreds and made them research the truth. He would probably ruin a party at the Playboy Mansion!

The parties are actually held in the grotto, not the mansion proper.

Sorry, Handy, but I have to give Kepler credit for this one. :D
(Aside from all the other problems this story brings up ... )

Re: Nice Planet #8: You People Make Me Sick.

Unlikely.

Mark Kessler was fired from his post as the police chief of Gilberton, Pa. in September 2013. Tensions had risen between Kessler and the borough council after videos that showed him firing machine guns at an target he called "Nancy Pelosi" and ranting against "libt_ards" went viral -- but now he's saying that he made the videos with a federal agency as a tool to root out anti-government extremists.

Uh, welcome to the fight against the herpa-derps, Mark? I guess?

So the b*tch at UVA was lying. Quelle surprise. And the "journalists" at Rolling Stone join a proud fraternity of their own. Prominent alumni include Jayson Blair, Stephen Glass, Janet Cooke and Walter Duranty. Nice going, a*sholes!

Would you expect anything less from the left wing rag that put Speedbump's brother on the cover?

Whatever shred of credibility it had is now gone.
