Re: Nice Planet #8: You People Make Me Sick.

To clarify:

Cop took correct actions to neutralize the threat.

Unfortunately those actions led to a death.

Re: Nice Planet #8: You People Make Me Sick.

And yes... that is awesome.

Re: Nice Planet #8: You People Make Me Sick.

I believe I said "locals," but don't let that get in the way of your narrative.

Actually, I said locals, meaning people from Ferguson:

You can take the "" marks away. This wasn't done by the protesters. They were across town and have mostly gone home now. These are vandals and not very likely locals. If the police want to round them up I don't know that anyone would object. The locals want them out of their town too.

But yeah, 11% is most of the protesters.

Do people arrested in Los Angeles count as "local" to you as well?

Re: Nice Planet #8: You People Make Me Sick.

The University City policeman who was shot on Monday night was NOT related to the Ferguson protests. It isn't clear if this is the same suspect, but a man apparently shot 2 FBI agents and a police officer after he shot his mother. From what I can gather on Google they are still searching for the suspect. The mother is dead, the 3 LEOs are apparently OK though information is hard to come by.

I can't comment one way or the other as far as where arrested people were from, but I'd consider locals being from Ferguson and any immediate neighboring city/town.

For example (Twin Citians will understand this, as well as anyone who wants to google-map it), if this happened in Minnetonka, I'd consider people from Hopkins, St Louis Park, Plymouth, and Golden Valley as "locals."

Yes, because the Ferguson area extends to both coasts. How many of the arrested were from L.A. exactly?

I looked at the report and they're mostly from Ferguson and towns/cities right around.

Btw, was the guy in the video a racist? He was saying the same things that I did.

That video should be shown on every major news network, IMO. While addressing some overall problems on the law side, he addresses the crux of the problem directly.

I don't know how many were from LA, but this photographer who was arrested was from DC. Does he count?

After a night in jail, protester back on Ferguson streets

Trey Yingst was arrested for unlawful assembly outside Ferguson Police headquarters on Saturday. He spent the night in jail but on Monday and Tuesday nights he was back on the streets documenting the violence.

Clutching his camera as police and protestors continued to clash for position on the street, exchanging blasts of pepper spray with hurled objects, he said he won't let the police chase him.

"I won't be deterred by tear gas and I won't be deterred by arrest," said Yingst, a photographer with an organization called News2Share who drove here from Washington D.C. on Friday. "I think my first amendment rights are too important."

Re: Nice Planet #8: You People Make Me Sick.

Great.

I used the word locals to describe people from Ferguson. There were 12 of 106 arrested from Ferguson. If someone else used the word "local" to define it differently, that's not my problem. I specifically said "locals" meaning people from Ferguson.

BOARD IS FOUND OUT! (Although it's been the worst-kept secret for some time ;) )

Re: Nice Planet #8: You People Make Me Sick.

Ferguson residents would be better in the future.
