There are some really weird things about this case it appears. I don't know if this is just some idiotic tactic from the family or if there is something behind it...
The oddest part, and most concerning part, is the where it says that the girl posted on facebook that she was on a trip to Idaho, before her mother and brother were apparently burned.

There is a bunch more to this story than we realized, methinks.

I understood that to mean that after the ordeal, she posted that at the time of the fire, she was on her way to Idaho. Which would jive with the police saying that a timer was used to delay starting the fire.

This story is getting weirder.

It's entirely possible that since he was supposedly a good family friend, he turned on the charm and somehow talked her into the trip, only for her to learn what had happened after the cops tracked them down. She is only 16 after all, and teenagers are highly impressionable, especially around people they trust.

Re: Nice Planet 5: Insert Catchy Title Here

So the "Tranny Trooper" now claims she's suffered from gender identity problems "all of her life." Then why, in God's name, did she enlist in the Army (it's all vol, don't forget)? And why is she making demands for treatment only after she's been convicted and sentenced to 35 years in Leavenworth?

There may be a roadmap for possible solution if Uncle Sugar refuses to provide the surgery: Some years back I recall an HBO special on an ultra extreme Anti Abortion group (Army of God, IIRC). Anyway, they showed an interview with one of those barking moon bats who proudly claimed he had performed an auto-circumcision!!!!! Get to whacking, Chelsea.

Manning's making a bad play for his courts martial trial. Either it's 100% fabricated, or he held his card to be played upon being caught. Either way, he's saying hello to Levinworth.

Re: Nice Planet 5: Insert Catchy Title Here

We have another high profile murder in which race appears to be a factor. Although this one isn't as high profile as the Martin case. The media don't have a beloved narrative to flog. And the race hustlers and pimps can't figure out a way to profit from it. Even so, the idea that three teenagers (2 of whom have been described as "black," although Luna looks "blatino" to me) would gun down a young fellow because they were "bored" is not calculated to be ignored, especially since the victim is from another country.

POTUS, who injected himself into the arrest of his buddy Skip Gates and the Martin case, is silent. And conservatives and their media say this case shows the double standards of Sharpton, Jackson, et al. My question: with decades worth of evidence, are we still debating whether those two birds are lying, four flushing, anti-white, self-serving demagogues? I should think the jury is in.

This crime is repellant and ugly and depraved, regardless of the races involved. And that's my point. We don't have to retreat to our racial bunkers. We don't have to keep score. We don't have to point fingers at presumed double standards. That's not to say they aren't there. They are. But our collective reaction to this unspeakable crime should focus narrowly on what happened in Oklahoma. Just as the focus in the Zimmerman matter should have been on the facts of that case. And not Emmett Till.

I truly hope the hyper-racialized atmosphere of the last few weeks will pass, and soon. And I hope reasonable, responsible people will begin to look for solutions to our problems, rather than political advantage. I'm not optimistic, since the rewards for damaging our society far outweigh those for trying to build bridges.

Some additional thoughts from John McWhorter that appeared in Time.

Re: Nice Planet 5: Insert Catchy Title Here

So we have a black guy, a Latino and a white guy who attacked and killed a white guy and it was racially motivated? The white guy suffered from 'white guilt' or something?

Maybe they are anti-immigration and went after the guy because he was a dang ferriner!

Or maybe they were bored and killed a guy for gits and shiggles. Maybe they were hoping to end up in Fulsom Prison so they killed the guy "just to watch him die." Wrong state, though I wonder just how good their geography is....

Only someone as impressed with himself as you are would snark about this episode.
