Re: Nice Planet 5: Insert Catchy Title Here

I think E-Bay is getting a bad rap for selling Holocaust related items. Why should these items be singled out (not just on EBay) for an embargo when other items, equally repellant, have been collected?* It's not like E Bay is approving of or denying the Holocaust by permitting these items to be auctioned.

*I see where Oswald's wedding ring recently fetched over 100K.

I just saw an episode of Pawn Stars where Rick declines to buy some Nazi dinnerware and says that he doesn't want white supremacists intimidating other customers in the store. That being said, Rick's logic doesn't apply to an online store and it really isn't fair for any store to be singled out. The store facilitates the transaction, they don't approve or deny the reasons behind it.

IIRC a lot of that stuff was brought over as war spoils/trophies by US troops after WWII. The kids/grandkids may not want to have the 21-piece Dine Volk Dine Reich Dine Fuhrer china set lying around the house to explain to guests.

That's what it was, but I don't remember why they wanted to sell.

Chicago thug gets his comeuppance.

No.....not THAT Chicago thug! ;)

Police say a robber tried to hold up an electronics store in West Rogers Park with a fake gun but was foiled when the clerk pulled a real gun from a safe and opened fire.

I still think if you got laid once in awhile this message board might not take up so much of your time. Just sayin'.... ;)

Your heart's in the right place, Rover, but you better refresh flag's memory a little about the getting laid part.

Who the h*ll are these people? Who the h*ll hired them? Why the h*ll do they still have jobs?

Exactly. Maybe I should open a facebook account and post a picture of a note saying that I have a cock and that I've used it before to see if I get banned or have some restraining order against me as being dangerous around other (female) adults.

The school was obviously out of line if this is the whole story. Who's surprised? Schools often exist in some alternate reality that few on the outside can fathom.

But who posts a picture of their concealed weapons permit on Facebook. Why would you do that?

Re: Nice Planet 5: Insert Catchy Title Here

Since she volunteers at the school, I could completely understand the principal wanting to talk to her and make sure she's not carrying on school grounds (which I'd imagine is not allowed, even with a permit) or when she's otherwise volunteering with the school. That would make perfect sense, actually. So why he instead chose something much more drastic and, frankly, stupid is beyond me.

In other news: "Self Defense" claimed in shooting a person in the back of the head after asking for help on his porch.
