Re: Nice planet 4: Take 2. Action!

Yep. You got me. I totally posted that just to point out that their opinion of Paula Deen was the major problem in that comparison. And your genius to see through my post and know that I secretly want to see Paula Deen hung from a tree by an unruly mob... you are a maestro, dare I say.

My recommendation (re: mutal ignore) still stands. For both our sakes, take me up on it.

Just a bit of advice: repeating a condescending, childish and ignorant post doesn't make it somehow less condescending, childish and ignorant. My usage of "lynch" was figurative, not literal. It's my fault, I forgot for a moment who I was dealing with. I'll keep it simple from now on. Maybe you can catch up.

Let me spell it out for you. In larger typeface, if that helps you to read it.

The entire point of the comparison was to note the high disapproval rating and low approval rating for Martin Luther King. It honestly doesn't matter who you're comparing him to, 59% approval and 28% disapproval sure seems disproportionate to the overall public opinion of the man.

If making any reference to Paula Deen offends you so much (and it must, otherwise why would that be the only thing you took out of that post), maybe I can instead note that General Sherman burned the **** place to embers and still has the same disapproval rating among all Georgians in that poll as King has among Georgia Republicans. There. Happy? Of course not...

I suppose it's above your pay grade, but let me point out that lefty polling firm PPP undoubtedly included the tendentious Paula Deen question to elicit the alleged "discrepancy" that has your knickers in a twist. And you're too much of a lefty dipsh*t to see it. The data returned on the Paula Deen question are irrelevant. She has been in the news lately. Dr. King has been dead for 40 years. And is a figure of infinitely greater significance and complexity than a TV chef. This is a textbook example of comparing an apple to an orange. Sadly, only certain easily amused, vacuous types will make a big deal out of it. Like you, for instance. Your clumsy, utterly predictable buried premise is "Republicans are racist, and the results of this poll "prove" it." Rule number one in the Sharptonobamajackson playbook: Never pass up a chance to play the race card.

Oh, Christ, this is getting amusing. This is obviously a lost cause, so here's a sloth riding a corgi.

"Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views."

William F. Buckley, Jr.

I thought "Sharptonobamajackson" was reasonably clever.

Without regard to issues, if there's a bigger a*shole in high level American politics than Anthony Weiner, I'd like to know who it is. Someday (hopefully very soon) someone's gonna knock this wisea*s putz on his a*s. I just hope there are cameras around when it happens.

There never seems to be a shortage of those seeking that same title-but I must admit he is probably leading the pack at this stage. But is there anything more telling about the American public than the fact that he still has a fairly large number of supporters?

Not that many. He is polling 4th in the mayoral race. He really ought to do himself (and his poor wife) a favor and drop out. Unfortunately his ego is probably too big to allow that to happen.

What a shame the guy got shot, POS

I see your point. But look on the bright side: no trial, no flannel mouth lawyers and media types talking about his "troubled" childhood, no possibility of an acquittal or mounting of psychiatric defense, no possibility of a life sentence, no possibility of decades of appeals of a death sentence and no possibility of books, made-for-TV movies and songs. Just relief and paperwork.

Would you take a look @ the daughter to make sure that there was no hanky-panky and she committed a "perfect crime"?

I'm sure the Feebies will look into that but it appears that wasn't the case

A friend of Hannah Anderson claimed the girl was "creeped out" by a crush the suspect had on her. The friend said DiMaggio explained that he didn't want the girls to think he was weird in an effort to defend himself after noticing he and the teen exchanged glances. She said he spoke while driving them home from a high school gymnastics meet a couple months ago.

Authorities have said DiMaggio had an "unusual infatuation" with Hannah, although Brett Anderson, said he never saw any strange behavior. If he had, Anderson said, "we would have quashed that relationship in an instant."

No, it's not worth mentioning at all. Let the detractors take aim at a person who's already fired upon them and see how close to center mass they hit. NYC reports have already shown, and I posted on this on the board in another thread last year, that in a gun fight the hit-percentage for the police is a mere 6%. Control on the streets is not the same as in the firing range.

I think you guys missed the joke... ;)
