So if Tryvon could have legally carried a gun there would have been a better outcome? A dead Hispanic neighborhood watch person is better than a dead teenager?

No, but apparently a dead black teenager is better than a dead Hispanic Watch Person. There's plenty of evidence to support that.
No, Charles Blow is black. A dead Hispanic is better than a dead African American.

This ugly **** we justify in the name of racial justice... Again, if you need an adjective before justice then it isn't justice

1,000 shootings in Chicago through June 30th. 200 dead. Has Charles Blow written even one column about that?
I remember when the MTU Rifle Club had to write a range disaster/evacuation plan into the org charter. We made sure to include plans for a Lake Superior seiche, a zombie incursion, and The Rapture.
I think the comment about TM not being able to carry a gun was more directed at it not being a fair fight - in a broad sense.
An adult carry a gun for self defense, a minor cannot.
Looking at doughy Zimmerman, I think it's safe to assume that had he NOT been able to carry a gun, he wouldn't have had the balls to follow the kid.
You assume he followed him, that's not in evidence

Two things to note on what you wrote. First, someone testified that Zimmerman was walking away from Martin at the time when the physical altercation began. Based upon everything that was called into question during the case, we'll simply never know for certain. Second, the various people who were character witnesses for the defense all said, more or less, what you just said. Unarmed, Zimmerman was physically weak, even with martial arts training he would not have been able to offer much of a defense; I think the word used was "weakling".He didn't get out of his car and follow him on foot?
FWIW and before anyone assumes what my views on this are - I believe that the correct verdict was rendered.
Regardless, Zimmerman seems like a tough guy with a gun who'd be a chicken**** without it.

Booker T Washington said:There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.
I don't blame the kid for being ****ed as he had every right to be there and NOT be followed by a doughy fatass coward. But at some point, being ****ed doesn't mean you should start a fight - if that's what actually happened. You just never know who you are dealing with or how things could escalate.
And the "doughy fatass coward" lived in the development, was on the neighborhood watch and had just as much right to be there, if not more, than Martin. He didn't deserve to be attacked and had the right to defend himself.
