Pat Robertson's unique marriage advice.

If I did this, I'd be a corpse somewhere.

What an idiot. I wish I could find the video where he asked an African American lady if mac & cheese was "a black thing." Found it. You know she wanted to snatch him bald headed, but she pulled her punch in responding.

What can I say? She said that she wanted advice on how to forgive him, and he gave him ways for her to do that. He wasn't being headstrong at all, just giving her what she wanted. Look, we may not always agree with what Pat has to say, but sometimes you need to put the whole thing into context. As for M&C, definitely not a black thing... unless of course Kraft Dinner was invented by Southern Canadians :p... but I wouldn't think it's a cultural comfort food like that.

I recall the Kitchen Nightmares episode where the soul food restaurant Gordon Ramsey was consulting farked up mac and cheese. He was gobsmacked. The only time I pay any attention to Pat is when he steps on his Johnson. The rest of the time I'd rather be undergoing root canal. I think he lost me for good (not that I was ever a "fan") when he took credit for "praying" a hurricane away from South Carolina. Check please.

Instead, let's consider for a moment that Little Dick's IRS may have targeted Billy Graham. Billy Graham, for cripe's sake. He is the gold standard for evangelists. Outside audits, independent board of directors, strict financial accountability, etc. There's no dropping by the office to pick up a check for cash and head into town for a shopping spree, a la Jim and Tammy. Throughout the years, he never permitted a woman other than his wife in his hotel room by herself, ever.

Pat actually ran for President in 1988. He was outed in the primaries by the VP at the time.

Theocratic impulses make me itch. And if I were inclined to support or vote for a religious person for president, Pat would be waaaaaay down the list. Slightly ahead of Jimmy Swaggert, but not by much.

Many of our lefty friends made essentially the same point. But they conveniently failed to mention that JJsr (the one not going to prison) ran for president twice, essentially from the pulpits of churches from coast to coast.

I get the same impulse to with religion and politics. I'm kind of a stickler for the whole separation of church and state thing.

Combining guns and alcohol are an excellent way to win a Darwin Award.

FEDERAL HEIGHTS, Colo. - Witnesses tell police a Federal Heights woman was killed when the new assault rifle she was showing to friends accidentally fired on Tuesday night

Witnesses and the husband told police the group had been drinking in the garage of the couple's home at 10024 Elliot St. when 22-year-old Anastasia Adair, a new gun enthusiast, went upstairs to a bedroom to get her recently purchased assault rifle.

Anastasia was walking back down the stairs into the garage when she reached out to hand the rifle to her husband, Shane Adair, who was below her on the stairs. The gun fired, striking her in the head, two witnesses and the husband told police.

The question is, how many on the left honestly take Poppy Jackson for real? The man's just as much of a slobbering racist and pseudo-Christian as Pat Robertson.

Cheney would know. That said, alcohol aside, "new gun enthusiast" absolutely screams "I never took a proper gun safety course" to me. Rule #1 "Treat guns as if they're loaded". Rule #2 "Always point the gun in a safe direction".

Rule #0 should be "Never handle or use a gun under the influence of anything".

I was talking about then, not now. The media treated him with kid gloves and undeserved respect. Even if MLK did die in his arms--NOT! And I was arguing for consistency: it's either a bad deal for religious leaders to run for high elective office or it's not. And that goes for the other "Rev" too. Seems like a simple premise to me.

Yeah. Better not to start down that road. I might have made an exception for Fulton J. Sheen.

Except that the Bible adheres to basic Commie principles.

Matthew 7:12 said:
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Acts 4:32 said:
The community of believers was of one heart and mind,
and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own,
but they had everything in common.

Acts 2:44 said:
All who believed were together and had all things in common;
they would sell their property and possessions and divide them among all according to each one’s need.

So yeah, let's all be poor and miserable equally! :)

I'm a huge proponent of guns, and owning guns, BUT! no one should own or handle a gun without a complete understanding of how to do so safely. Forget background checks, it should be a requirement that everyone who purchases a gun go through a firearm safety course.
