If I found myself on his jury, I'd give him an intentional Casey Anthony treatment. Instruct the other jurors to find him innocent, give a nudge-nudge wink-wink to the nearest TV camera, and turn him loose into the general public.

This is non political, but that would probably work in Texas. I'm not at all certain about California. Maxine Waters might designate him a "freedom fighter." Personally, I like the idea of feeding him feet first into the wood chipper from "Fargo."

Another good one. Old Pio annecdote alert: I've mentioned before about Ronald Clark O'Bryan, the Houston dude who fatally poisoned his young son with Halloween candy--for the insurance money. The "Candyman." Shortly before his due date, I did a program with the DA of Harris county and a young lawyer from the ACLU. During a break, the ACLU guy admitted he was having a hard time advancing all of the standard anti-death penalty arguments. BTW, this a*shole also doled out poisoned candy to several other kids in the neighborhood (including his daughter), hoping to divert suspicion from himself. None of them ate the candy. One child was found asleep, clutching the poisoned Pixy Stik, which he had been unable to open. The State of Texas put him down like the dog he was.
