You're assuming, then, that he must shoot the dog or taser it.

After having physically restrained it (quite effectively, might I add, if I were to go by that photo).

If that's the approach we want to take here, then maybe we should just be glad that the officer didn't choose a more brutal way (like, say, curb stomping it) to kill the dog that he already physically restrained.

He made the decision he was going to shoot or taser. I was explaining why he might have chosen to shoot rather than taser.

Then when does he release it? 10 minutes later? An hour? It had to happen at some point.

I'm not saying he made the right or wrong decision here. I'm saying that asking for this officer to be fired or die is going overboard based on what is known.

To an extent, he has to release it in order to throw it down a flight of stairs. If he has it restrained, he can still have the owner come over and try to regain control of the dog before he makes the decision that it must be killed. And in that case, he doesn't have to do much beside keep the dog down.

It's worth noting: restraining a dog is a shockingly easy thing to do once you have one down.

Obviously that sort of stuff is going too far.

But it hardly justifies his actions or excuses him from whatever minimal consequences he will actually have to experience.

What I "love best" about this story is that he was acquitted of murder and then admits he stabbed the man.

Awesome. He could definitely take ownership of the murder because of double jeopardy.

The justice system failed but hey... it's just a worthless jew that got killed. A dumb black hat. If Nelson were white and Rosenbaum a black lutheran, what do you think Al Sharpeton and Jesse Jackson would do?

I try to avoid Sharpeton and Jackson as much as possible. They're blow hards that campaign on one subject while in fact supporting and promoting what they are campaigning against.

For without racism... without a white guy doing something to a black guy (even if it was warranted), what would Sharpeton or Jackson do with themselves? They're too power hungry and too much glory hounds. They'll probably find out who the suspect was and, if it is in fact a white man (which I'd bet it was because that's how chance rolls these days), Sharpeton will again cite racist motivations. In all likelihood, the suspect had no idea who Nelson even was.

This sad episode, in addition to revealing again, what a repulsive p***k Sharpton really is, also serves to illustrate the hypocrisy of so-called "hate crimes" laws. Let's see, we've got a braying mob chasing a lone Jew down the street, they and the guy with the knife are hollaring, "get the Jew," the Jew winds up dead. Well, that's all pretty ambiguous. We can't jump to any conclusions. B.S.

Crash claims the husband of a married couple, expecting their first child. Pregnant wife is saved by husband's quick thinking- but he pays the ultimate price for it.

The reason for the crash?

In a telephone interview from her parent’s home in Redmond, Washington, Erin Wood said she remembers little about the crash, other than her husband’s quick actions behind the wheel likely saved her life and that of their unborn child.

“I remember a car swerving towards us and he (Brian) braked hard and turned right. That meant the SUV went right into him and crushed him and that I was saved,” she said.

Criminal charges of vehicle homicide and assault are expected to be filed as early as today against the driver of the second vehicle, 21-year-old Jordyn Weichert of Oak Harbor, Wash., along with her front-seat passenger, Samantha Bowling, 22.

Police allege both women were high on drugs at the time of the crash, and that Weichert had passed control of the steering wheel over to Bowling in order to take off her sweater.

Two men in the back of Weichert’s vehicle were also killed in the collision.

I don't know about tasers, but with cattle prods you can be touching the animal while it gets zapped without getting a shock.

Pretty normal "how did the porn get into my power point demonstration" story. Except for the fact that some of the "parents" involved in this incident are contemplating filing a lawsuit (presumably againt the local blood bank or perhaps the high school or both).

A lawsuit? Because some high school kids saw 30 seconds of gay slides inadvertently? Come on. First, kill all the lawyers. And then kill all the greedy parents looking to cash in on what appears to be an accident. These people are worse than crack hos. Plus, it's probable some of their boys enjoyed the show.

The concept of "votes of expulsion" is not likely to have originated with the little girls. More likely with the parents unhappy with the cheer. I think they have a point, but they clearly jumped the shark here.

WHat kind of parent wants their kid to be cheering about too tight clothes and their azzz at 6 yrs old? And people wonder why there are so many problems with teen age gals these days.

Yeah, that doen't appeal to me. Neither does it appeal to me that a bunch of adults would punish a little girl 'cause they're p.o.ed at her parents. That's never right.
