If that's the approach we want to take here, then maybe we should just be glad that the officer didn't choose a more brutal way (like, say, curb stomping it) to kill the dog that he already physically restrained.
Of course it would have been much better to discharge his firearm in the middle of the crowd of people.
I believe tasing the dog would mean he'd have to release control of the dog...into a crowd of people.
