You know... there are deserving people out there that want to conceive and can't.

Then there are people like this.

I think one of the reader comments pretty much sums up how I feel about this type of story:

"I have to get a license to fish, but this drunken slob is allowed to procreate? Something is wrong with this picture."

Re: Nice Planet 2010

That's possibly one of the lowest things I've ever read. Wow. You know what? I hope that no one in prison reads that article... especially if that someone is in for life already.

And she didn't get to see the house. That's incredible. It isn't illegal to be the world's biggest a-hole but if it was, this guy would be up for the death penalty.

I don't know how Darwin this is. It's just stupid.

It does reinforce the fact that, if it is possible to make it competitive, there's bound to be a championship event somewhere for it.

Sauna competition. Good god.

How I understand Darwin Awards is this: The Award winner must remove him or herself from the gene pool having not reproduced in an unintentional yet decidedly stupid fashion using a method that is seemingly unique and would otherwise seem benign to most people. Sortof like a guy who was drinking a beer out of a jar and used an identical one to siphon gas out of his car. He put the two jars adjacent to each other and then took a drink out of the wrong one.

He went to the hospital and they treated him and said these things shall pass.

He then exited the hospital, lit a cigarette, and blew up. Darwin award.

This was a regularly scheduled event where many people participate in it. It's a stupid event, but it isn't a unique event to any particular participant.

I guess it is a gray line issue. Worthy of note and it does mostly qualify, but...

I won't disagree that it might not be perfectly Darwin but it is still one more idiot out of the pool...granted he was old and probably couldn't reproduce after those temps but he self-selected through his own stupidity to exit this world so I nominate him.:)

The 31 year old could have still touched the 15 year old in her underage lady areas without giving away that she was a chick instead of a dude. That would probably be considered inappropriate contact. ;)

Re: Nice Planet 2010

This belongs in the Nice Planet thread because it took 9 violations before he he earned his life sentence...

A repeat DWI offender was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday.

Bobby Joe Stovall, 52, was convicted in July 2010 of felony driving while intoxicated. Tuesday, Judge Billy Ray Stubblefield sentenced him to life in prison.

In early July 2009, Stovall crossed several lanes of traffic on East Palm Valley Boulevard in Round Rock without yielding. Another driver hit his truck, and his female passenger was taken to the hospital.

According to police, Stovall’s blood alcohol level of .32 and his passenger’s level was .38. The legal blood alcohol limit is .08.

Stovall had eight previous DWI convictions from several different counties.

Previously, he served time in prison for burglary and credit card abuse.
