Nice Planet 13: This Planet Sucks

That is a ridiculous statement with absolutely no proof to back it up. Not everyone sees race in people like you do.

The team name is the Azzuri Cachorros, so probably a pretty high number of Hispanic players on the team, yet these "Nebraska hicks" decided to wait until the finals to screw the team over?

I grew up in Nebraska, and believe me, there is plenty of racism there. Omaha itself is a highly segregated city (Blacks north, Hispanics south, whites west) with one of the poorest African American populations in the country.

Only a couple years ago, the opposing high school threw green cards on the field when they were playing Omaha South in the state tourney. But I'm sure South's large Hispanic enrollment had nothing to do with that...

Re: Nice Planet 13: This Planet Sucks

Pay no attention to this map and where at least two of the teams in that tournament come from.

I now know way too much about the 2017 Ray Heimes Springfield Soccer Invitational.

It was soccer, right? Them fairy parents who let their kids play soccer are obviously Dems. Republican parents make their kids play fubaw. The girls they pull from school at 12 so they can start learnin em to cook.

Kep, you'd be surprised how many RWNJ parents have their kids play soccer.

High school kids did something that was racist? Shocking!!!

Your single story definitely proves there is racism in Nebraska and that it played a role in this soccer tournament.

Soccer's actually big out here in WV redneck country. It's cheap and the school districts are poor because PROPERTY TAX OH NOES TEH SOCIIALISM!!!1! But everybody's got money to spend at the track.

I believe several of the largest immigrant placement districts are in NE (the states lobby for these because nom nom the federal grant moneys). IIRC Omaha has a sh-t ton of people from such garden spots as Somalia and South Sudan.

I'm sure they are made to feel right at home by the local intelligencia. (Dude on the left looks Hmong.)

Your automatic dismissal of it as a potential motive is just as telling.

TAUNTON, Mass. — The teenage couple shared mundane text messages — about a walk and a trip to get ice cream. But there were darker ones.

“It’s time, babe,” Michelle Carter, then 17, texted to her boyfriend, Conrad Roy, who had just texted that he was “ready.”

“You know that,” she wrote. “When you get back from the beach you’ve gotta do it. You’re ready.”

“Okay, I will,” Mr. Roy, 18, typed back, adding: “No more thinking.”

“Yes, no more thinking,” Ms. Carter wrote. “You need to just do it.”

On Tuesday, Ms. Carter, now 20, is to stand trial here on a charge of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Mr. Roy, who was found dead in his truck in 2014, after that exchange of text messages, more texts and two phone calls.

Mr. Roy was found near a compression pump that had filled the car with carbon monoxide, in a Kmart parking lot in Fairhaven, Mass., and his death was deemed a suicide. But prosecutors say Ms. Carter was to blame.

This is a very sad and sick story all around, but, really? We're prosecuting her? Really? A 17 year old girl's text messages?

This is just stupid.

Re: Nice Planet 13: This Planet Sucks

The people at United Airlines have lost their ****ing minds.

http://www.startribune.com/united-a...nds-in-wrestling-match-lawyer-says/426810121/

a Houston-based gate agent at United Airlines told Yennifer Correia that she would have to check her 17th-century violin, which costs more than her car, the first words out of her mouth were: “What are my other options?”

Correia, a classical violinist on her way to play in the summer season at the Missouri Symphony Orchestra, asked for an airport supervisor. But the supervisor said there were no other options. The violin had to be checked.

As the altercation intensified, Correia told the agents that she would appeal to their bosses and asked the supervisor for her name, MacNaughton said. The supervisor said she wanted Correia’s name and reached for the tag on her luggage.

“Without provocation, the supervisor for the Chicago-based carrier then lunged for Ms. Correia’s case and, incredibly, tried to wrestle it away from the musician,” said a statement written by MacNaughton.

“I start screaming, ‘Help, help, help, can somebody record what’s happening because this lady’s trying to take my personal suitcase from me,’ ” Correia told Houston NBC-affiliate KPRC.

The supervisor said she was going to call security, and Correia apparently responded, “Please do.” Then the supervisor dashed off. That was the last Correia saw of her.

During the scuffle, MacNaughton said, Correia’s hand was injured. She doesn’t believe there is permanent damage, but she went to see a hand specialist “because the stakes are high.”

She booked a flight for Tuesday on American Airlines instead of United — and carried her violin the whole time.

Mens and Boys soccer is strangely egalitarian at the HS and college level, enough athleticism and coaching can equal money and talent. Womens and Girls soccer is simple, find the money and you'll find your winner.

What will happen when a TG female plays on the girls HS (Or U18 youth) team and they win? I predict fireworks and possible global thermonuclear war.

Re: Nice Planet 13: This Planet Sucks

A friend (not on any board of any kind that I know of), mentioned that if sports start openly allowing TG, or people who generally ID with opposite sex.....there goes Title IX. Oddly enough...he may be onto something.....

Edit: Define "woman" or "man" as long as this progresses. Sports for all, in other words.

Re: Nice Planet 13: This Planet Sucks

Title IX isn't going anywhere. It has nothing to do with sports. Sports can't be just excluded from Title IX. Your friend is a moron.

Re: Nice Planet 13: This Planet Sucks

And he is still a moron. Even if his premise held water (it doesnt btw) Title IX would not "go out the window" even just for sports. The opportunities would still have to equal out they would just redefine the parameters. Basically they would add the word "identify". It wouldnt even take a five minute debate...hell they might not even amend the wording.

Since Title IX involves more than sports though it doesnt matter anyways.

TL;DR: Maybe Gender Politics just isnt his game Brent. I know...LETS HAVE A SPELLING CONTEST! :D

From what he explained, and yes, it's a complex issue:

ID, transgender....what you ID with, and what you are (bio), or what you are (sex-change)....there's no blatant gender now. I see his point. NOW, if one wants to re-define...then we move on. But if there is no concrete gender differentiation, then Title IX is in the discussion. What defines "women's sports?"

BTW, pretty sure you know him, if he's not also a friend. :D

Re: Nice Planet 13: This Planet Sucks

You understand that Title IX isnt just about sports right? Seriously read up on what it would take to get rid of it is no easy task and gender identity is not what is going to be whattakes it down.

If someone doesnt identify they cant play a gender specific sport. You have to identify to qualify. If you dont identify as either a woman or man (in whatever way you do) you cannot be awarded a Women's or Men's scholarship period. The only way that would change is if they added more sports for the added genders and then guess what...Title IX gets EXPANDED not rescinded.

Seriously I get what he is trying to say but he is as wrong as St. Cloud State D-1 National Title Shirt.

Re: Nice Planet 13: This Planet Sucks

BUT it could lead down a slippery slope.

From what I have heard, there are some schools (don't ask me which ones, I honestly don't know) that require genetic testing. If a male trans has so much estrogen/etc to make him more female than male, and vice versa, they are good. The end result, though, is it is a dangerous route to take. It really is.
