From what I have heard, there are some schools (don't ask me which ones, I honestly don't know) that require genetic testing. If a male trans has so much estrogen/etc to make him more female than male, and vice versa, they are good. The end result, though, is it is a dangerous route to take. It really is.

Genetic testing does not detect hormone levels. You're making half an argument/explanation, or you're simply turned around on something tonight.

Right now the balls in an uproar camp is up in arms when a genetic male desires to compete as a female. Adults can have reassignment surgery and undergo hormone therapy. But for minors, those options may be contraindicated until the person reaches adulthood. If that's the case, you'd have a boy competing against girls. Is that fair?

I'd leave that question up to the legislatures and national governing bodies.

It's a complicated question. Right now my grandson and Kareem's grandson may compete for a spot on the basketball team. Is that fair? :)

That's the one place I wouldn't let touch it. Have you seen the derp that comes out of state legislatures?

We are not even remotely prepared to have a meaningful discussion about this as a country. The levels of vacuity and emotional immaturity displayed during the whole bathroom fiasco were depressing. Maybe in fifty years. Right now we've at the point where most of America was re: race in 1915. Lots of growing up still to do.

You know what? If they're demanding equality, let's give it to them. Make sports co-ed. Let's see what happens.

This should never have been a war. It should have stayed a police action. We've wasted so much money in Iraq and Afghanistan for nothing.

Even as a full-bore anarcho-syndicalist neo-pacifist world government reptilian fifth columnist pinko, I believe the invasion of Afghanistan to remove the Taliban and deny AQ safe haven was the right policy, executed pretty well. We f-cked up in Tora Bora, probably because the Afghani and Pakistani intelligence and defense forces were working in concert with the terrorists, but still -- that was a worthy project, done well.

We should have been out by 2004 after the decapitation, and of course we should NEVER have invaded Iraq. That was where the neocon disease destroyed US foreign policy and the economy for a generation. In a sane world, the policymakers who planned and executed the Iraq invasion should be convicted of war crimes including mass murder equivalent to seventy 9/11s, not even counting what their destabilization of the Middle East has cost us and the world.
