Four minutes from elimination two weeks ago -- guess I'm a Pens fan now! :(

Steve, just because the leafs pulled a leafs doesn't mean you have to root against the bruins

The rangers were brutal in this series

Re: NHL Playoffs 2013: Shut up, Pierre...

The Rangers can't fire Torts quick enough. Unfortunately I think senile Sather will keep him around to waste yet another year of Henrik's prime. :(

Re: NHL Playoffs 2013: Shut up, Pierre...

More like welcome to the series jonathan toews. May be too little too late.

Fyp

It'll be interesting from here on out. The Hawks are good enough...

Winner of Game 6 moves on.

I didn't think Toews was all that bad against Minnesota. He did all the little things he does well, but he didn't find the scoresheet. Through 4 games with Detroit, he looked average at best. That's a huge credit to Detroit and particularly Zetterberg.

The Dolans love these overrated execs (Isiah, Sather) that can run teams into the ground. If there was no cap, they'd be blowing all sorts of money on over-the-hill stars. Thank goodness they got plenty of talent in the system back in the day.

Local ratings are out for yesterday's game 5 between Boston and the Rangers. A new record for a conference semi on NBCSN, Boston did a 17.9. NYC did an impressive 3.6!

Re: NHL Playoffs 2013: Shut up, Pierre...

I was watching NHL earlier and they had NHL Tonight on, so I assume it was a repeat from last night, so they may have updated this by now. But - they were talking about the upcoming Bruins-Penguins series and talking about how they met three times in the regular season and the Penguins won all three, but they had the April 20th game in Pittsburgh. That was in Boston, right? Because it was supposed to be the 19th and the game was postponed because that was the day of the manhunt of the Marathon bombers.

The salary cap does not necessarily prevent them from blowing money of over-the-hill stars. According to one article I read, they're just about to finish off paying the buyouts on Chris Drury, (injured Bruins defenseman) Wade Redden, and they had $60 million bucks of Brad Richards watching games 4 and 5 from a luxury box.

However, the cap restrains them from going insane like they did in the days of Markus Naslund. The hard cap has forced the Rangers to develop talent that's in Hartford.

Last night's Wings/Hawks game was kinda what I thought would happen (minus the PP explosion by the Hawks). Wings need to finish this tomorrow night.
