NHL-CWHL affiliation on the horizon

Re: NHL-CWHL affiliation on the horizon

Couldn't agree more. Go Tessa!!!

Cammie, we ended up ordering a Team Canada 2010 Olympic replica jersey from IceJerseys.com. Thanks for the recommendation on that. They did a fabulous job with the customization. It looks great. I even ordered one for Mrs 86. Between Mrs 86 and I, we've ordered three jerseys from them. They do a nice job with those. Oh, and needless to say, I agree with your quote ... GO TESSA!!!

You're welcome. I like IceJerseys. They have cool stuff. And I was fortunate enough to hang out with Tessa for a day this past spring when she and several other alumni came back for Alumni Day. She is really nice and hands down an awesome person. Lisa Chesson was there too. It was pretty sweet to get to hang with them. And I'm saying watch out for the Buckeyes this year. They're gonna make some noise. :)

Re: NHL-CWHL affiliation on the horizon

Let me go on record as saying that Boston will win...this is the exact thing that is not needed and has been the problem in the CW...stacked teams with no player allocation system in place though it's hard to do with only 1 team....

Lots of political picks....social picks etc., It's the same old story ladies and gents!! Some players have already bolted from the list...others may follow when the monetary issue plays out!!

And c'mon..30 rounds for a draft?? I hope the team members made it to the food table before the OW arrived!!

A piece of advice....keep the teams intact for next year and only have a draft of new players entering the league or those who were not rostered this season. Don't do this all over again....30 rounds is like watching Ishtar over and over and over again.....;)

Re: NHL-CWHL affiliation on the horizon

It's because you're excited.:D .......Sounds like a mess that is going to get worse. Shame...Hope I'm wrong.:)

CanHock, I would have to agree with you. HHOF was a good choice, but 30 rounds?? Over 125 players available, only 51 max needed to fill 3 teams. And to top it off, they are having another GTA skate and a "mini-draft" in a month. I don't understand it at all, but that is par for the course with this bunch!!

I will have a full list out tomorrow and you will see all the players who were chosen. I would guess, a week or two before the CW gets the list out...;)

Wow...Mr Bitterman...plllease!! So, HHOF was a good decision...everything else was poor/bad? Nothing good came from this event? C'mon...it's a start point...cut em SOME slack...!! The more you rail...the more your credibility on this site fades.

5 4, Don't sweat it about the Team Canada jersey, I'm good! Glad to hear how the draft went. I swear, I should have taken my own advice and came on here first. I get on the CWHL website this morning, and maybe I was looking in the wrong place, but I did not see anything about the draft. So, I came here and I get the information I need.

Cammie, that is so cool that you got to hang out with Tessa and the other Buckeyes for a day. Everything I have read about Tessa, it seems like she is a very nice and down-to-earth young lady. Mrs. 86 and I want to go to one of her CWHL games this coming season and hope to meet her after the game. Oh, and I agree with you wholeheartedly about the OSU women's hockey team, I think they are going to be tough to beat. Coach Barto has done a great job with the program and players are starting to take notice. It has to help when you have four Olympians and they all medal (one gold, of course)!

Re: NHL-CWHL affiliation on the horizon

I really hope the CWHL website puts the team schedules out there or at least provides links to the team websites. If Mrs 86 and I are going to make the six or seven-hour trek from central Ohio to the GTA for one of these games, we're going to have to plan ahead a little. We both agree, though, it will be a great time. Been too long since we have visited Canada. I suppose one of you in the GTA will have to help me out and paste the schedules in here (LOL). From what I have read, Toronto will be playing their home games in the Mastercard Centre. I've already scouted the hotel situation and there are some really reasonable rooms up there (mostly near the airport). It's gonna be fun. As soon as I see Toronto's schedule, we'll start planning our trip.

OSU...you would be better served to stay in Mississauga along the South Sheridan Way. From Burlington to the MC Centre is a 25 minute trip...so, you could catch a game either at the MC or in Burlington. As well, the rates are much better than the airport plus, you wont need to pay $20 a night for parking!!

Message me and send me your email and I will ensure you get a schedule. Just don't expect it too soon!!
