NHL 2026: The Olympics Will Be Mammoth!

The Swiss League only has two arenas with 10k+ capacity (since we’re talking about replacing a 16k seat arena), Zurich and Bern, and neither are particularly close to Italy.

Turin still has Palasport Olimpico, which still has its ice plant, has hosted Olympic hockey, has been renovated, has a 12-14k capacity, and is close to Milan.
The biggest problem they'd have is that the arena is a multi-use where they also run tennis, MMA, music, basketball, concerts, etc. Canceling everything they probably have scheduled in February on no notice because Milan doesn't have their shit together would probably be pricey.

If their website is accurate the arena has no events planned during January and February.

I mean, there could still be events but nothing seems to be planned.
