NHL 2024: SLC Puck

Jokes on him. He could have saved thousands by just renting an apartment in the South Loop, ate a bunch of Crave Cases of White Castle sliders, and drank Malort until the same thing happened.

Sub the White Castle for a couple of hot dogs and a Polish from Portillo's and I've been there, and can concur. :o:eek:

So, what do our Minnesota folks think the crowds will be like at next year’s World Juniors?

Also, Freebird somehow works as a goal song and the US team should totally use it at the Four Nations (if only to give the Canadians PTSD).

Wild are now missing: Kaprizov Faber Brodin fleury trenin

wallstedt is sick, fleury is sick so our backup will be an ebug tonight vs avs- don beaupres son is actually the ebug

Just saw something interesting from the nhl. Apparently they are claiming rights for YT videos if they have any nhl highlights on them. Something other pro sports don’t do.

After seeing last years attendance data including raw revenue, this just seems to add to the ideal of how clueless the nhl is of their sport. Yt is a easy way to get random views of their sport so that people may tune into espn or tnt to see a game, but no- the nhl seems to want to keep their main source of revenue as low as they can.

These yt channels are nothing compared to the tv potential they have.

MLB did that briefly this summer. I think it turned out they had AI or a third party going through for them that got way too overzealous and they soon reversed it. Hopefully that’s the same for the NHL.

I haven't watched an NHL game all year. Can't say that I've missed it.

It’s being reported that this is the case but there hasn’t been any updates from the YouTubers end.

The story on the YouTubers end seems to be this was done manually, meaning it was not done by an AI bot, since it’s whole videos being claimed instead of individual clips (which are then allowed to be edited out and then reuploaded). Or basically, the league is lying and they did this intentionally.

Edit: Video with explanation.

Edit 2: And another one.

Formula 1 did this when Bernie Ecclestone was in charge. When Liberty Media took over, they've been more lax. Not completely, but they understand the power of some free publicity.

On the other hand, when Liberty took over, anyone who had F1 in their name (like a podcast, magazine, whatever) were sent trademark infringement letters to cease and desist. I know someone who got one from a podcast they did (which he has been doing for over 10 years). They ended up changing the name of the podcast.

Seattle with a very impressive 2 shots on goal in the first period against Pittsburgh.

And the period ended 1-1.
