NHL 2018-19 Part 1 - No power outage in Toronto this year!!

Re: NHL 2018-19 Part 1 - No power outage in Toronto this year!!

And everywhere south of Boston and west of Springfield rejoices.

Growing up in Western MA we all followed Boston sports teams, even when the Whalers were just down the street. We just disliked Boston when it came to everything else.:)

Re: NHL 2018-19 Part 1 - No power outage in Toronto this year!!

Will we now have to hear how Blues fans follow their team the right way?

The SB Nation Blues' site thread for winning the Cup has been up for 10 minutes.

It has 8 comments.

For perspective, a typical SB Nation Mets June game thread gets about 1000 comments in 180 minutes.

Re: NHL 2018-19 Part 1 - No power outage in Toronto this year!!

SB Nation comments are the bellwether? Crap. I'm a terrible fan. :)

I'm all for hearing about how the Blues fans are the greatest if it makes Boston fans angry, honestly.

Scumbag Portnoy is on the cesspool that is Boston Sports Radio badmouthing St Louis for starting a site celebrating the Blues' win tonight and hawking Blues Stanley Cup gear. Oddly enough, all the merch links go to Portnoy's site. What a snake.

Any bricks for sale?

All that tells me is that Blues fans have better things to do than spend time on the internet.

Mets fans apparently do not.

Then you'll enjoy this.

Seriously, the Bruins couldn't figure out Binnington?

Detroit Free Press ribs Boston for losing. Boston sports media goes apesh*t with indignation.

I don't know, kind of seems like they're having fun with it right back. I'm sure the comments tell a different story, though.

Re: NHL 2018-19 Part 1 - No power outage in Toronto this year!!

The St. Louis Blues' first-ever Stanley Cup title drew a big audience for NBC Wednesday.

The Blues' 4-1 win over the Boston Bruins in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals delivered a 6.2 household rating in metered markets, the highest such number for an NHL game since 1994. It's 8 percent higher than the last time the Stanley Cup Finals went to a seventh game (5.72 for Bruins-Vancouver Canucks in 2011) and 6 percent ahead of NBC's previous best for an NHL game (5.84 for the deciding game between the Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers in 2010).

Wednesday's broadcast jumped 33 percent over Sunday's Game 6 in the early numbers. In the finals, it delivered 8.72 million viewers, the most for NBC since it resumed broadcasting the Stanley Cup Finals in 2006. The previous record was 8.54 million for Game 7 in 2011.

With live streaming added, the total audience for Wednesday's game was 8.91 million. The seven-game series averaged 5.47 million including streaming (5.33 million for TV only), the best average viewership since 2015.

Dave Taylor (Class of 1977) will finally get his name on the Stanley Cup. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

This is awesome!

What is his connection with the Blues? Front office? Gotta be getting up there now.
