NHL 2018-19 Part 1 - No power outage in Toronto this year!!

Re: NHL 2018-19 Part 1 - No power outage in Toronto this year!!

Speaking of the Islanders- them and the Jackets may be in for a long wait. Looks like these games may go at least 6. And round 2 won't start until round 1 is done....

All the 1s could easily be gone after this round. This is one of those years where the Cup is anybody's. Just get hot.

Not wanting to turn this into a traffic thread, but obstruction is still obstruction and needs to be called.

Jeez Kep - have you obliterated the DC Beltway and I-95 in VA from your memory?

Re: NHL 2018-19 Part 1 - No power outage in Toronto this year!!

Stumbled upon some pretty cool YouTube clips of interviews with members of The Miracle team who have been involved in a Miracle Fantasy Camp at Lake Placid. That expanded to others and it got me to thinking of all the various retrospectives I've watched through through the years. Of the roster Craig, Eruzione, McClanahan, Johnson, O'Callahan, Schneider, Harrington, Silk and Ramsey seem to get the most air time. Others are occasionally mixed in - Baker, Christian, Morrow, Christoff, Janaszak, Wells, Verchota and Morrow. Interestingly Broten almost never appears (which I kind of get) and Pavelich is a recluse from what I understand so his absences also make sense. But I don't ever recall seeing Suter or Strobel.

I know there's been a few reunions that Pavelich did make it to, but others he did not. Was everyone at Salt Lake in 2002 for lighting the flame?

The Beltway is stupid but reports of its traffic have always been exaggerated. I-95 only blows if there'a an accident.

If it stands, I think it'll be the first time post Original Six that the top two teams lost in the first round

It'll stand. The Divealanche have figured out Calgary's top line, and Grandpa Smith hasn't been able to keep it close tonight.

Well, as soon as I typed that, it went to 5-1, so...

Flames? Extinguished

The top teams with 112 wins combined only collectively won a single game in the playoffs. The third best team isn't playing like it, and a game 6 exit is possible. Honestly this is why I like this sport more than any of the others - you can't predict who is going to show up. As for my NHL brackets...only one has picked 2/3s of these outcomes with the bruins advancing. I don't see the bruins advancing after their play in game 5 though.

Looks like the Isles were wise not to win their division.
