Nope. The Canadian dollar has been traditionally too weak when compared against the USD, and that holds true now. Canadian teams need so much more domestic revenue in order to pay their players, many of whom are contracted to receive their pay in USD. The league won't ignore that, no matter how much good will or longing for a traditional hockey market to have a team again.

Why? The expansion fees are much greater than the projected value of either franchise. If Quebec gets a team it will be through expansion.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a trade:

Chicago: Acquires Carolina's 2016 2nd round (via Rangers #50 overall) and 2017 3rd Round
Carolina: Acquires Chicago's Brian Bickell and Teuvo Teravainen

Salary dump. They had to get rid of Bickell's contract. Sad to see Teravainen as collateral damage.

Nate Hate for Vegas. For the record, I am for shipping Nashville, Miami, Raleigh, and Tampa to Canada. Columbus can stay because cool uniforms. Phoenix and Vegas can stay as part of my plan for Albuquerque to get a franchise before I retire.

No, Tampa has to stay so they can host the Frozen Four every four years.
