And how are all of these players getting the mumps? Does the vaccine not work in adults? Does it become ineffective at a certain age.

Oh yeah, and this...

Apparently what folks are saying is the vaccine grows weaker over time. Everyone who's getting it now got it before they were re-vaccinated I'm sure.

I'm not a doctor, but if I recall correctly, most everyone gets the vaccination when they are a child (one or two doses?) And then a booster at high school/college age to help prevent it.

I would guess that the players who got it are most likely guys who never had the booster at 18, one of their parents is Jenny McCarthy, or the strain located in the Ducks locker room has mutated to be resistant to the vaccine.

A quick review of each player's health records for history of the vaccine, booster shots being available league wide, and about eight gallons of bleach for the Ducks locker room would put an end to this.

That is kind of surprising. I wouldn't have picked him as the first. Figured Eakins, Carlyle, and McLellen would go before him.


Then again, it shouldn't surprise me after hearing McLean's comments aired on Sportsnet yesterday. He was quoted as saying such things as 'There are games I see the other teams roster, and I'm scared at what they'll do to us. Some games, I'm scared at what our own roster will do to us.'

:eek: Some vote of confidence he gave his team.

Ballard gets his head driven into the boards and no hearing, no phone call, no discipline for the player that did it. If Matt Cooke had done the same thing it would have been a 10 game suspension.

Meanwhile Scandella for the Wild has another hit to the head hearing today.

And everyone laughed when I said the Wild need an enforcer. Brodziak had to fight Martin last night after the hit to Ballard and got his *** kicked.

Wow, the NHL is a complete ****ing joke. Player safety? They have no ****ing clue what that even means.

The Ballard hit doesn't warrent a hearing.
He spun away from the hit and tried to duck it, yes the result was bad, but that's not on Martin.
