Re: NHL 2015 - Trouble Bruin! Ranger Leaf jumped the King Shark! Just Ducky!

The way Parise and Suter are being described here is nothing like the fanfare with which those signings were greeted at the time. And is this a different USCHO from the one where "Parise" has been used as a synonym for "God" for the past 15 years? Talking about the different Zach Parise than the one who's been referred to as "Captain America"? Look, obviously he's not on par with LeBron, but I remember reading this board it was seen as a huge deal when the Wild signed both of them signed for the same huge contract on the same day (and then gave both of them A's shortly thereafter).

I'm reading that there's been a change of course on Moore and that he'll be having a phone hearing tomorrow instead.

He was called "Captain America" because he was....get this....captain of the American hockey team.

So this is the same as the Heat because it was a huge deal for Wild fans and they happen to be friends?

Re: NHL 2015 - Trouble Bruin! Ranger Leaf jumped the King Shark! Just Ducky!

Gordie Howe has suffered a "serious stroke" and now has difficulty speaking and has lost some function on his right side, per the Detroit News.

And who cares what Parise and Suter did?

Parise is from there and that's as close to home as Ryan could get.

In addition, no matter how good the hockey players are (see Crosby & Malkin), two great players on a team don't guarantee success or championships.

And it would be a stretch to call Parise great as this point anyway.

Whatever... I'm sure no one on the Rangers or any other team cares about them signing with the Wild.

They won 1. LeBron & Co. were contenders each year.

Individual basketball players in general can have a far greater impact on a game than individual hockey players - especially at the elite level.

My point was that the Penguins should be there each year if the comparison to LeBron was to have any relevance.

I'm afraid the end is near for Mr. Hockey. :(

I've got some friends who know the family. I haven't talked to them in a while, but he hasn't been in good shape for quite some time.

Apparently he was doing better until Sunday. He is 86, after all.

Wow -- are the Sabres really this bad? Down 4-0 and being outshot 35-10 midway through the 3rd at the Air Canada Centre.

The Wild with a much better third period tonight. Nice comeback against the Bruins to win 4-3 after being down 3-1 after 40.

Don't c-block the narrative.

I didn't say it was *the same*. Obviously an individual superstar hockey player (save for maybe a dominant goalie, but this isn't really the point) doesn't have the same impact as an individual superstar basketball player, just that it's reminiscent. Gosh you upper midwesterners are sensitive. :p
Where are you hearing this?

Here's what is currently on NHL.com:

Saw it on Blueshirt Banter, citing Bob McKenzie and Darren Dreger. Still could be wrong of course.

Re: NHL 2015 - Trouble Bruin! Ranger Leaf jumped the King Shark! Just Ducky!

Just heard Moore only got 5 games which proves the NHL is clueless and has no interest in getting rid of this stuff. Wild need a head hunter.
