Re: NHL 2015 - Trouble Bruin! Ranger Leaf jumped the King Shark! Just Ducky!

Jagr's playing career is longer than the Florida Panthers franchise.

In fact, Jagr was in the league prior to: Ottawa, Tampa Bay, Anaheim, Nashville, Atlanta (WPG Jets 2.0), Columbus, and Minnesota (2.0).

Jagr also was in the league prior to Dallas, Carolina, Colorado, and Arizona. And played against the North Stars, Hartford, Quebec, and (possibly?) Winnipeg (1.0)

Jagr came into the league when I was in college.

Now THAT was a long ****ing time ago.

HahAhahaha, Avalanche. Grow up.

Would have been a little sweeter Wild win had they not called the AV's a goal due to pushing goalie into net. would have kept AV's shutout in all four meetings. Either way, Wild are looking like they can play with anyone. If they can stay healthy, could be a very interesting rest of season and hopefully long playoffs.

Re: NHL 2015 - Trouble Bruin! Ranger Leaf jumped the King Shark! Just Ducky!

Could they be more childish? They're a disgrace to the NHL and hockey.

Roy just seems like a *****. And Yeo implied in interview that league could take action on sending out the goon at the end. What would that be? Game or two for the goon?

He's probably referring to that instigator rule. Last five minutes of a game gets the coach a 10K fine. The idiotic officials "working" last night's game didn't have the stones to call it, though.

"Seems like"? :D

AZ sends Yandle to NYR for Duclair, J. Moore, 1st rounder. AZ retains 50% salary for next two seasons.

DAL sends the Pride of Oswego, Eric Cole, to Detroit for picks.

Helm is hurt, possibly worse than anyone is letting on. Franzen might be done, period. Two prospects were sent to Dallas, not draft picks. I don't know enough about the prospects (D Mattias Backman and C Mattas Janmark) to comment.

EDIT: Both have spent most of their careers over in Sweden. Janmark has not played in the AHL since 2013-14. Both '92 birthdates.

I didn't realize Helm was down for the long term again. I figured we were close to sticking a fork in Franzen, his knees have to be just about done.

If we didn't give up XO, Marchenko, or Sproul, I guess this isn't terrible for now. Cole was, surprisingly, a plus player on that crappy Dallas team.

Re: NHL 2015 - Trouble Bruin! Ranger Leaf jumped the King Shark! Just Ducky!

On Franzen, it's not his knees. It's the scrambled eggs between his ears that is the problem. As for Helm, I don't have any info, but I'm speculating that maybe Holland knows that Helm's injury is not good.

I like it, for what it is. We get a decent vet, didn't give up our golden children. And how many times has Detroit become a fountain of youth for guys in their twilight part of their career?

IMHO, the last time was Dallas Drake, so...you do the math.

I know, I know...Hull, Hasek, Robitaille, NoGood (;)), etc. All of whom, were 2008 or prior...

The strategy has not panned out in quite some time.

Meh.

Cole is a 12 year vet, gives us some more size, and it sounds like the biggest asset we give up is a second (probably somewhere 50-55 pick). Both prospects were several years away AT BEST, plus buried behind several others.

It isn't a blockbuster deal. But Cole is almost a point-per-game guy for the Stars this season (51 in 57, I believe I saw).
