So Rask flipped a chair when he had to come in for Malcolm Subban last night. Tuukka has a lot of Ron Hextall in him.

As much as I say I like 1-0 pitchers duels in baseball over 11-10 home run derbys, 10-7 football games over 62-59 shootouts, and hockey games that end regulation 0-0 over games where the nets might as well be pulled, the Wings-Stars game was one helluva contest. Wings went up 2-1 midway through the second, then Dallas scored three goals in the last five minutes to make it 4-2. Wings scored two 2 minutes into the 3rd to tie at four, then the Stars put up two more to make it 6-4. Wings got a power play goal with five minutes left and then with the net empty scored again with a minute left (getting away with some goalie interference). Kronwall then got the game winner a minute into OT to make it a 7-6 victory. Awesome game.

Can they? Sure, the way each team is playing now, they definitely can. Do I think they will? No. The Hawks will figure it out before then. Wild will make the playoffs as a 6-8 seed, but in the NHL that's all you need.

If they don't catch the Hawks there is no way they'll be a 6. Top 6 come from the top 3 in each division. Right now the top two in the West are out of reach so there is no way the Wild can be a 6 unless they catch Chicago.

Six weeks ago, many are on the ledge and leaning. Pretty sure some may have even jumped.

Now we're talking about catching the Hawks and playoff seeding.

I got one name for ya. Devan Dubnyk. Without him the Wild were done, toast. I give huge props to the coaches in Arizone who got his career and goaltending back on track, and to the man himself who fully took advantage of his opportunity. Unlike a certain Mr. Kuemper.

Yeah, and still not comfortable yet. They're in the 8th spot. They still have to play the Predators three times. Still lots of injuries and missing games. Cripes, Veilluix (sp?), Schroeder, and Prosser aren't technically supposed to be in the starting lineup. I expected Prosser at best to split time with Ballard or Folin.

I don't think they will catch the Hawks, just that it is an actual possibility now. Just as much of a comment referring to their struggles as the Wilds success lately.

The Wild are far from safe. They still have to win a lot of games to get in.

Plenty of Hawks fans are on the coaster too with our up and down season.

Me? I just ride it and wait to see what happens and try to enjoy it along the way.

I haven't really paid attention to the Wild rollercoaster this season, I've been too caught up with the effing space shuttle launch Tech has been bringing us on. :p
