Re: NHL 2015 - Trouble Bruin! Ranger Leaf jumped the King Shark! Just Ducky!

With the NHL purposefully scheduling the Sharks to start the season watching the banner raising ceremony in LA, it doesn't seem like a leap to think that that might actually happen.

Should be fun for the Angelenos; they won't have any baseball distracting them.

Asking the Sharks to be there for the banner raising is like asking the body to return to the crime scene.

Wow, that's a very short time to get things done. I know the Alaska Aces have a preseason game tonight and now they don't have any idea what their schedule is gonna be.

From what I heard, they're letting the CHL teams play with themselves for the season in their own division, but come playoffs, they'll travel. It's not too different from the Western Conference of the ECHL already.

The only issue is the CHL teams need to add games against themselves to get to the ECHL's 72 game schedule.

*edit* It's approaching the ideal 30-30-30 that sportswriters claim the NHL owners want for the development of players, and by absorbing the Midwest/Western based CHL teams, this sets up the newly rumored AHL Pacific Division (involving a whole convoluted mess of affiliation changes and swaping of leagues by teams).

(Perhaps incidentally, the Arizona Attorney General is investigating claims of irregularity in the Glendale City Council's voting process, specifically a secret negotiating session with the Coyotes that wasn't disclosed, in violation of state law.)

Translation.

They're good hockey playing Toronto boys. :)

The Hip has a huge following in Upstate NY. I went to a concert in 2011 at the Fairgrounds and it was packed. Couldn't hardly move at all.

I'm wondering about the future of the Aces if this setup is coming true. I wonder if an NHL team will be willing to have a long term affiliate in Alaska.
